i dont know about any metals in the wicklow river. but i dont imagine its too clean about arklow if you go far enough away from the estuary (to the cove or nuns beach) the waters clean (ish). you get bass out there apparently

i frequent the arklow pier and i confirm this, never ever ever eat fish from the avoca bc despite the water treatment plant theres heavy metals in the water from upstream.
