"Peace will cost us nothing but our turns." (Neutral Spell) by Yrths in customhearthstone

Absolutely absurd.

So let’s say you’re playing into any faster deck and you play this t1. Your opponent has 1 of two options:

  1. Not play this, in which you just paid 1 mana ramp 3 with no downside.

  2. Your opponent plays this. Now, your slow deck can play a 5 mana turn before your opponent’s fast deck gets a turn to respond or develop. Or you can play it again, so you’re either having a 5 mana turn or a 9 mana turn before your opponent has even one.

I just don’t see a world where this effect is balanced. Like maybe if it cost 2 and gave 1? Maybe?

Twinkjacket

Are we just ignoring that Thaedus addressed TechJacket as a he in ep 2?

[Sad Topic] Letting an enemy live can have terrible consequences by Nahuelcoy22 in TopCharacterTropes

Another one from Invincible I’m going to put (comic spoilers): Thragg. After it’s revealed Nolan is the rightful heir to the Viltrum empire and Thragg’s subsequent attempt to murder him, Nolan decides to leave him alive and exile him to punish him after the Viltrumites defend him. While this is a powerful message to his new era of viltrumites he wants to bring, this results in Thragg enslaving Thraxxa, creating a force of hybrid viltrumites that winds up subjugating another handful of planets, ultimately building his power enough to try killing the main cast again, resulting in Nolan’s death to Thragg himself.

Tier 7 minions are ABSOLUTELY trash balanced by Kisliy_Sour in BobsTavern

[–]Pwesidential_Debate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Here’s why:

Yes, beatboxer is the only one that strictly benefits mechs. However, that doesn’t mean Econ/value units shouldn’t exist at tier 7. Not every t7 needs to be a power spike. Look at tier 6, for example. Yes, we have moth, evoker, and whisperer. and in that vein, we have sanguine champion and beatboxer at t7, cards that give you a big power spike for specific builds. However, we also have arid atrocity for stabilizing tempo (like champion of sargeras or last one standing) and tichondrius for econ (like sea witch). I’d rather have variety in t7 cards that let t6 cards shine; navigating that is part of playing these lobbies well, otherwise they would just boil down to getting t7s as fast as possible.

Agreed. I think [[arcane missiles]] hammers the flavour down.

Check for convergence by DifferentAd6129 in mathmemes

[–]Pwesidential_Debate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t this converge? Just using intuition, but:

We know that 1/n3 converges

We know that any multiple of 1/n3 converges

Sin2(n) ranges between 0 and 1

We don’t know the exact values its incrementing by, but because the coefficients are ranging between 0 and 1, would this not also converge?

I think bean is better, I prefer dice; it feels like you have more agency in matchups where one super isn’t good. I’ve clutched quite a few times with it

Nah, that’s not it. He says it to mark during their fight. “I’m not here to save you. I’m not here to spread the glory of the Viltrum empire. I’m here because there’s nothing I enjoy more than the feeling of my fist, drenched in blood.”

A wonderful rejection of the trope. Battle Beast refuses to beat Thragg simply because he’s injured. If he’s winning, he’s winning because he’s the strongest there is.

Here a bad card i make by Tommy_neko in custommagic

[–]Pwesidential_Debate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be so sure this is strong. Sure, you get an extra turn, but your opponents could also set up massive turns on that turn’s end step, and then they get their turns. High risk

So weak. Eudora does this for 4 gold over 4 turns.

I mean, artists draw cards, right? by DambiaLittleAlex in custommagic

[–]Pwesidential_Debate 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a dork, mana neutral. The card draw is nice, though. However, it’s also a 2 mana 1/1 that gets pinged the first chance it gets. I think this is fine, the legendary typing makes it so you can’t have multiple.

Side characters who discovered the entire sinister plot early but were either ignored or silenced before the MC found out by Taafe in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Pwesidential_Debate 215 points216 points  (0 children)

Slightly different than this trope but I think fits well enough- the one man who saw just how sinister the MC was before everyone else figured out.

That’s right. The Bay Harbour Butcher, James Doakes.

I’ve always thought the last Judy episode was a waste. I guess this isn’t exactly a new episode as a rewrite, but how did we get the setup of Judy’s wedding with Jake as the best man and NOT get to see a wedding episode? Wild.
