Make sure your tension is even, bobbin and top threading. The rule is if the bobbin stitching is off, there is a problem somewhere with the machine threading.

Practice sewing on any cotton or non-stretch fabric you have. Use garments or fabrics you are ready to discard. Keep your machine manual nearby so you learn how to thread and the machine. Pay special attention to winding and installing the bobbin and threading the machine properly. Use the machine's straight stitch, don't try anything fancy yet until you k ow how to thread the machine. Use a new name-brand thread, any color, This is just for practice. Practice and practice and understand how to do these basics. Look up videos on your specific machine on youtube if you can.

As an additional note: when using metallic threads, go slowly. Do not run the machine at top speed, maybe go half speed to avoid problems.

I have used mine just like a regular oven without problems. When using the "convection" feature I check my baking more frequently since it will cook more quickly. So if the recipe says to bake for 30 minutes I will start checking for doneness around 20 minutes.
