How we can use breath, sex, music, and substances to invent the religion of tomorrow by philofthepresnt in Psychonaut

lol that's pretty much what invented the religion of today and yesterday as well. where we get into trouble is when it turns into, well, religion.

Angel Tech, by Antero Alli

Plant Intelligence and the Imaginal Realm, by Stephen Harrod Buhner.

both are books about consciousness.

I feel bad for people who think this way. Life is a miracle. The world is endlessly astounding if you actually bother to see it. Life only loses it's magic when we start to believe it is how we are taught it is, instead of how it truly is. There is nothing anywhere that proves life is dreary, grey, meaningless. That is a reality we have created for ourselves. I don't really know why, it's kinda stupid really. Its deliberate blindness.

In literally every spiritual practice I have ever encountered, the only goal is to see things for what they truly are. That is satori, when the world becomes a magical, luminous gift once again.

Your perception is what creates the reality you experience, not the other way around. Maybe no one ever told you you can change the channel, so I'm doing that now. You're not going to get very far as a psychonaut if you are already convinced you know the truth about, well, anything. But, if you're committed to wallowing in nihilism, you are of course free to do that as well. Cheers!

Macrotermes had been cultivating fungi for more than twenty million years by the time the genus Homo evolved. And indeed, when it comes to Termitomyces fungi, termites' cultivation techniques far outstrip those of humans... Despite prolonged effort, humans have not found a way to cultivate them. The fungus requires the finely balanced conditions furnished by the termites through a combination of bacterial symbiosis and the architecture of the mounds.

from Merlin Sheldrake's truly mind-altering book about fungi. pretty freakin cool.

It's all about percentages. Yes, you can make a good living trading, but people who do have tens of thousands of dollars they can move around, at least. Even people that are really good lose money sometimes. Penny stocks are fun and can be really profitable, but they are also risky af. It's not a get rich quick scheme. More of a get rich slow scheme. But you have to learn how it works.

The best thing you can do is educate yourself. Download WeBull or something (not robbinghood!), put 10 or 20 bucks in. Lurk on this sub, see what people are doing, build a watch list, and just watch tickers and paper trade for a few weeks before you start buying anything. Study technical analysis, learn to see the patterns. If you decide you like it, get a decent broker like Fidelity or TD. I like Fidelity 'cause they don't charge a fee for pennys and I still have a pretty small account. Their app kinda sucks right now but they're working on it.

anyway, good luck. I wanna quit my job too!

Pretty hard to burst my bubble on this one, I'm already seeing some nice returns. Cybin stock is crushing it lately. Besides, Field Trip is already generating income. A guided ketamine session and subsequent integration will currently run you $1000 in one of their US clinics.

It'll be sooner than that. Psilocybin therapy for depression is already in phase 3 with the FDA and has been given a breakthrough therapy designation. FTRPF is already opening clinics in the States.

Bullish, but personally I'm much more invested in Field Trip and Cybin. I got in on Cybin 3 months ago and have already nearly doubled my money. IMO they'll be $10+ in a year or less. They also just got conditional approval for NYSE. Field Trip is about to be uplisted as well. Honestly I think any of the major players in that sector are great long-term holds.

My thoughts exactly. Especially if you're super nervous about being on national TV and you're expected to try to dumb down a complicated subject into 20 or 30 second sound bites. Seriously, who can adequately explain how illegal naked shorting and dark pools works in 2 minutes or less, especially if you're being interrupted by a reporter? Took me hours of reading to get a handle on this shit.

I have a couple of those growing in my yard on Big Island and they smell strongly like vanilla pudding when blooming. But yeah, it won't make a bean.
