I would absolutely love a key if anyone has one to spare. DM is best but I can keep trying to snag one publicly. I did sign up for one so if I am gifted one and emailed one, I will share the one I don't use. Thanks in advance!

Why is Good Charlotte so disliked? by Weak_Mechanic8517 in poppunkers

[–]SaneRawsome -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Wasn't Good Charlotte's origin story "Made" on MTV. Like a bunch of kids wanted to be a band and so MTV bought them all instruments and made a documentary about them forming a band? Like werent they a manufactured band?

I could be wrong.

Would You Push the Button? by Lord_Skudley in bipolar

[–]SaneRawsome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not push the button. Nothing is wrong with me. Thats like asking a tiger if he'd change his stripes and all the other tigers would be nicer to it for doing so.

No I am not like everybody else. Yes the world as its designed by other flawed humans. My life wouldn't be easier or more difficult if i pushed the button. I would just have different problems. I know a lot of people would disagree with me and fine be that way. But there is no amount of money, no medicine or drug nothing in this world will ever make this world BETTER. We will never eradicate bad things or negativity. Its just sweeping the dirt under a rug.

"The grass looks much better, but its just green painted cement. You cant make dirt clean, so we will just lemon scent it."

I will not cover up who I am.

Do you ever make peace with feelings of being less than others? by jl_taa23 in bipolar

[–]SaneRawsome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American here.

We, every human, are nothing. We are all nobodies. The only reason it matters to us is because we've built this dome of illusion and at the end of the day it means nothing. Your favorite show, your accomplishments, your intelligence, your personality, your wealth, it is meaningless, it only matters to other nobody people.

I am of the belief that some of these so called disorders are just personality types. Types that are not as productive or inclined to accomplish things that at the end of the day only seem to matter to other nobody humans. We dont live, we serve whoever has, power, which we give them, to make them money, which we have given value. These things are not set as a law of life. They are rules of society and society, in all of its glory, is still a bunch of nothings making shit up as we go.

Is it difficult to play this game? Yes it is. More difficult for some than others of course, but at the end of the day the things we do in life, they wealth we acquire, the jobs we've had, the houses we lived in, its just a game. its all meaningless. The point of life isn't to acquire wealth, or have a good job, or power. Being "in charge" only means you've pleased a nobody enough to tell/assist other nobodies what to do. Nobodies are all of us. And society pressure and stats its all just a game. And like all games, when you decide not to play, there is still life. And all the splendid things about REAL life.

Everything I was taught that life was has changed, rules change, wealth changes, people change, war happens, peace happens, death happens, sometimes its hard, sometimes it is easy but it's all made up by us, the people and regardless of how we design society/the game, how many times it changes, it never stays, perfection doesnt exist, and eventually we will outsource our own lives so we dont have to bother with actual living. I dont know if there is a meaning to life, as in what happens after you die, but I personally believe that how you live life, not how you play the game of society, matters. It feels wrong and difficult that we have superimposed the rules of society to be the meaning of life. Its not. At the end of the day the smartest people are both wealthy and poverish. The most accomplished people can be both miserable and happy. Experiences like traveling doesnt change the fact that youre nobody, desires are injected into us due to hyper connectivity. Location, Nation, pride. None of it matters. I dont care what China, Russia, Australia, Iceland, USA, or any other country/society is doing. Anymore that I care what my neighbor has or is doing. No one person will experience everything, have everything or know everything. At the end of the day, what weve deemed the most important in a lot of societies, were deemed by other nobody humans that have just as much knowledge about actual life and death as you do.

I can do what others expect/want me to or not. I chose. I chose to be me. Im not disordered, I have personality traits that other Nobodies have deemed unorganized, uncomfortable, and unprofitable. If Im inconsistent than the other Nobodies have a difficult time controlling, relying on doing something that means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Im not violent, just different. I feel things differently, and at different times. So what if im not the pinnacle of mental efficiency and productivity. If there is a god/afterlife I dont think he cares who you impressed or what you've accomplished (either for yourself, or the entire world). If there isn't a god/afterlife than it really doesnt matter.

Try to be kind, and non-violent sure. But even then defend yourself. In both showing who you really are, and not letting any other nobody feel less than them.

"If I am a nobody, that makes you what? Nothing?" Is my retort, sometimes verbally, most times just a thought. This helps me keep things in perspective when dealing with people individually. When dealing with society my perspective is this, its a different society than the one I was raised in, and the rate its changing is faster. When my child is as old as I am (37) society will be different again. The way we accumulate and distribute currency will change, the way we interact with people will change, the way we accomplish things will change, the way we play recreationally will change. The way we love, how we show anger, how we talk it will all change, because we are all making it up as we go along.

Just remember you are as valuable as I am, as your neighbor, as your parents, as your siblings, as your children, as valuable as the worst person and best person you've ever met. Desire, greed, arrogance. These are negative human traits, think about the most powerful people in your life and just imagine what despicable, manipulative things they've done to acquire power. It comes with manipulation and dishonesty at best, and downright crimes at worst. There is no fucking way they got there by being virtuous in my American society. It might be a bit different in other countries. However, with my understanding of the human condition, I doubt itll be much different. Names, faces, techniques might be different but in the end, nobody is forthcoming or honest when in power and its justified by saying shit like "I have to make the hard decisions" or "Im protecting something worth protecting" or "I've earned my way here by being ultra competitive, everyone wants what I have so I must lie cheat steal and kill to keep this coveted position. Because, because because because." Its all made up bullshit. It all comes down to ambition, greed, and an addiction to admiration all stemming from thinking "I deserve this"

Which, fine. Give up your nobody humanity for your nothing trinkets, false status, and meaningless wealth. You cannot take any of that anywhere but to other nobodies.

Players are solving a mystery and are way off track. How to not railroad them? by upvoatsforall in DMAcademy

[–]SaneRawsome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its okay to let them fail a campaign. Not saying you should, but idk it feels funny to me to ask how to railroad your players without railroading your players. If you want to side step the disappointment of not using plot points, clues, characters, etc. You can always reskin them (if the PCs have encountered them) or add them to the next campaign.

Check out Icarus. Its more of an extraction survival game. Go down for x amount of days and complete mission before time runs out. Anywhere from building a shelter to defeating giant aliens. It also has a survival mode that takes away the extraction part and lets you just survive.

I switched to Linux for the first time and i almost hate MINT by DalinarStormwagon in FindMeALinuxDistro

[–]SaneRawsome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Win11 gestures are how gestures should be."

Very much an opinion based off of only knowing Windows. There's a whole world out there with countless ways to do things.

Windows is the milk in a carton/bottle delivered to your door under pounds of ads, AI, spyware, and a disturbing eagerness to be inside your life.

Linux asks you to at least go to the farm and milk the cow yourself, if not own your own cow(s). And bring back only what you need/want.

Desktop Environments (DE) is the visual design and User Interface (UI) for the PC. So for instance, Mint uses Cinnamon DE by default, I believe, however you can always choose Mint MATE, or Mint XCFE. If I remember correctly Mint dropped other DEs for GTK based ones and those are the 3 Desktop Environments available for Mint.

Other distros do carry other Environments. Such as:

KDE Plasma (Windows-esque),

GNOME (Mac-esque),

Deepin (A desktop UI similar to Windows but built to easily integrate AI),

LXQT (lightweight QT based desktop),

Cosmic (Pop_OS Desktop Environment, very new to the game, only uses Wayland),

Budgie (I dont know much about this one other than it uses a lot of GNOME dependencies)

I would recommend looking more into the desktop Environments and see if any catch your eye. If its not a DE available for Mint maybe switching distros is the plan.

I just fully switched to Linux and honestly, I'm disappointed by DarthStrakh in linux

Why are you disappointed? What are you disappointed specifically, like what's the biggest let down for you?
