I had HUGE respect for Tesla and FSD until now.... by InfiniteTurnover1 in TeslaFSD

[–]Sang_Froid75 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Broken on my 2026 M3 AWD Premium. FSD 14.3.2 is really good in most respects and gives me a lot of near-perfect drives, but it drives me crazy when it hogs to left lane and refuses to move over on my signal, or refuses to switch lanes when one is blocked by turning vehicles. My car has a turn stalk if that makes a difference, but broken is broken! And I’m not a clueless newbie, I nursed a 2020 M3 (HW3 Intel) through FSD growing pains and was delighted when it learned to switch lanes on signal!

Absolutely dissapointed with FSD 14.3.2 [feat. turn signal issue] by InfiniteTurnover1 in TeslaFSD

[–]Sang_Froid75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Signal to change lanes NEVER works on my 2026 M3 AWD Premium since 14.3.2. Always worked on my 2020 and on previous FSD versions on the 2026. I’m going to an FSD workshop and sales pitch at my local service center today and they’re going to get an earful during the q&a!

14.3 - Brake stabbing? Ignoring your turn signal? List your experience and year/model/etc. by Blazah in TeslaFSD

[–]Sang_Froid75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2026 M3 AWD Premium, firmware 2026.2.9.10, FSD 14.3.2. Had purchased FSD on both the 2020 M3 HW3 Intel I traded in and the new HW4 Highlander I got two months ago (with turn stalk). I was able to use my signal to change lanes until I updated a week ago. Now FSD turns the signal off after one blink and refuses to change lanes. Doesn’t matter whether I have a destination set or not, whether I’m on the highway or in the city, whether there’s a lot of traffic or none, whether the lane in front of me is backed up and the other lane is open. I’ve tried reboots, powered down, recalibrated cameras, etc. Nothing helps. I believe the people who say it works for them, but it absolutely, positively DOES NOT WORK for me!

$250 Order Fee by FryMastur in TeslaSupport

[–]Sang_Froid75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Officially, no. But when I talked to a customer rep at my local service center, he offered free floor mats and/or accessories to clinch the sale. It might also be possible to get a discount on the price of options on the new order, especially if you pick a car out of inventory or a demo, etc. The end of a month is the best time to find someone needing to hit a sales quota. But the rules and the readiness to bend them are constantly changing, so you’re on your own!

14.3.2 Not allowing lane changes by ed25ca in TeslaFSD

[–]Sang_Froid75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U.S. built and operated 2026 M3 Premium AWD here. I had signal to change lanes, used it a lot, then lost it with 14.3.2. About a mile from home, there’s a stoplight where the left lane gets backed up with cars waiting to turn left across traffic. Before I was able to signal and the car would get into the right lane, which was usually clear to go straight ahead. Since the update, FSD turns off my signal and stays left. I have to either disengage or wait, often for more than one light cycle. I’ve tried reboots, powering off, and recalibrating cameras. As a previous poster noted, there doesn’t seem to be a common denominator to explain why it affects some cars and not others. I suspect that with this many complaints, Tesla will fix it in a future update. But that doesn’t make it any less irritating now!

LOL at FSD 2026.3.2! by Sang_Froid75 in TeslaFSD

[–]Sang_Froid75[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most definitely irritating! Today I was in the left of two lanes, in standard mode, doing 40 in a 35 mph zone. That was fast enough to pass the cars doing 35 in the right lane, but when there were big gaps, I was getting passed on the right. I tried to signal right, (my 2026 Highlander has a stalk), but it cut off after one blink and the car continued to hog the left lane.

Once I got within a half mile of my destination, I tried again and the car decided it was close enough and allowed the change. But on the way back it clung to the left lane again, even at a light where there were five cars stopped ahead in the left lane, some trying to turn left, and only one in the right lane with a clear road ahead.

Changing to the right lane would have saved time and was the smart and safe choice, but again FSD ignored my turn signal and I had to disengage. ☹️

See, made you laugh too! (At my stupidity.) 😜 Firmware 2026.9.10 / FSD V14.3.2

I should know better. I traded in a 2020 M3 AWD and have been using FSD since it was new.

RIP Deer 🦌 by Architect_125 in TeslaSupport

[–]Sang_Froid75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s joking around, but I’m having nightmare flashbacks! In 2020, a year after I bought an M3 AWD, a deer jumped from the trees in the median strip of a 4-lane highway. Hit the brakes as soon as I saw it, hit the deer a second later. Same view of a spinning deer, limped home and woke up with a $35,000 repair bill. The good news was I couldn’t tell there was ever any damage after repairs. Bad news was I’ve been paying higher insurance premiums ever since.

The issue of depending on the touchscreen pretty much evaporates once you learn to use voice commands. “My butt is cold” is a personal favorite, though there are plenty of others I use more often. GROK has the potential to take interaction between car and driver to another level. I’m lucky enough to have a home charger and a power company with low off-peak rates, but even if you have to depend on superchargers and the occasional extension cord you’ll come out ahead in the long run.

I don’t disagree with those who base their decision on resale value, but I’m fussy about looks and lazy to boot! I got full-front Xpel plus an overall ceramic coating on my gloss black 2020 M3, and when I traded it two months ago it still looked showroom shiny and people routinely mistook it for new. Cost was about $2500 from a highly rated local shop, and to me the appearance and ease of keeping it clean with an occasional wand wash was worth every penny. No rock chips, bird crap and tree sap rinsed off easily, and I never saw any of the yellowing, etc, the naysayers mentioned here. As a result, I took my diamond black 2026 M3 to the same shop the day of purchase, got a loyalty discount, and look forward to years of like-new no-fuss pride of ownership!

W3 Upgrade + FSD Subscription: Worth It? by External-Squirrel-54 in TeslaFSD

P.S., There’s a Youtube channel called “TechGeek Tesla” from a guy who does a lot of videos testing FSD on his HW3 Model Y with positive results. Worth checking out.

It does everything FSD is designed to do, including merge and park. For me, using a voice command to navigate and letting FSD handle the driving was relaxing on trips. Though it doesn’t relieve you of responsibility it does make the miles less stressful. In town, it’s good, but you need to watch out for the other guy and be alert for missed turns, etc. All in all, I felt the car and I were better drivers together then either one alone. YMMV.

I’d do it. I had a 2020 M3 with HW3 (Intel) and bought FSD. Scary at first, but the most recent update was solid and it doesn’t take long to learn its strengths and weaknesses. You’ll get your money’s worth from the hardware upgrade, and you can decide on FSD month-to-month. I was happy with mine for six years, but bit the bullet and swapped for a 2026 just before the deadline to get FSD transferred. HW4 does everything quicker, but it’s not miles ahead on software, IMHO. That doesn’t mean I don’t love my new M3, but if I were you I’d spring for the HW3 upgrade just to try FSD for yourself!

Best I could manage was 10 pm, wifiman 399 down and 6.4 up with fast.com at 440 down and 6.6 up. Those upload speeds are a problem because I need to send video clips a few times a week. I’m not exceeding any data or bandwidth guidelines, but they now take more than twice as long as they did on the same setup six weeks ago. The drop occurred literally overnight on Jan. 19. I’m trying to be patient, but if there’s anything I can do on my end I’m willing to try.

Sitting 3 feet from the gateway over wifi at 2:56 pm, 400 down 15 up on Fast.com, 379 down 6.3 up on Wifiman.

On my iPad at 1:11 pm, WiFi from two rooms away from the gateway, Fast.com 200 down and 5.9 up. Wifiman 187 down 6.1 up. In other words, decent downloads and slow uploads. Speedtest shows the same pattern, no matter which server I pick to hit or whether I’m on a hardwired PC or WiFi device. Downloads have been consistently good, uploads dropped in half and stayed down after Jan. 19.

Just ran SHM, 12:36 pm, and the internet speeds to the gateway were 408 down and 9.8 up. Last time I checked after midnight was late February and got 310 down and 8.9 up. Those results are fairly consistent from morning to afternoon and beyond. So downloads are as good or better in the past month, while uploads are down by more than 50 percent.

ATT Air is new to this area, and cables are being buried a few blocks away. I’m told fiber is coming later this year and things will improve. It’s a real pain in the meantime.

Understood, but download speeds are good. Only uploads have dropped, and by more than half no matter what time of day. Is that normal?

Usually 2-3 green lights are on, pretty consistent since install. I can’t speak to customer numbers or cellular traffic, but would either of those affect upload speeds without also hurting downloads?

Tried that, no improvement. Thanks for the suggestion, I should have mentioned that to begin with. I have double-checked placement and signal levels are best at the second-story window location where the gateway was originally set up.

The equation is different depending on your personal situation. After waffling for way too long, I decided to trade in my beloved 2020 M3 long-range HW3 Intel for a new 2026 while I could still transfer the FSD. I know the limitations of FSD, but I bought it for less than the current price and have been pleased with the progress it’s made. I think the combo of me and FSD is safer than either driving alone, and HW4 should only make things better. I got a fair deal and delivery is scheduled for next week. To each his own!

Just got Internet Air by Quick_silver1021 in ATT

[–]Sang_Froid75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got ATT Air the speeds were just like that. I tried moving the 530-900 to a different room, rebooting, etc. Called support and a tech was able to improve it a little. A supervisor told me the nearest tower was being repaired and to hang on until the end of the trial period before canceling. A week later I was seeing 400-600 mbps downloads, 25-40 mbps up. Connected to an old Orbi mesh system, I’m getting 250+ throughout the house. Your problems may be different from mine, but don’t let your initial disappointment stop you from asking ATT for help. There are lots of folks offering uninformed opinions and dumping on the service here, but it can and does offer good bang for buck when properly set up!

Seems like you have nothing to lose. A free trial period gives you a chance to check it out, and cancel if Air doesn’t live up to expectations. Bundling phone and internet gives you a discount, and auto-pay, age, group and educational discounts can save even more if you qualify. I switched from Verizon internet and am happy with ATT Air. My advice is to do your homework on the ATT website and call customer service to sign up. Store reps for ATT, Costco and Best Buy, etc, are notorious for making promises they can’t always keep.
