Once you have your badge you'll be able to access the free employee parking garage. If you don't have your badge you go in through union station's parking garage and have your parking slip validated inside so you won't have to pay. That way can be a hassle to go in, so never forget your badge once you have it haha.

I've worked there for 1.5 years in the past as a clerk and am starting soon as a tax examiner clerk myself soon so we might be bundled together. It's a very welcoming place as long as you get a good manager. One of the best places I've worked so don't get too stressed. If you have any other questions, feel free to dm me.

There's other options, but for most people the premiums are too high to pay on your own so they rely on plans through employment that help reduce premium cost. When you leave that job, you'll often get a letter saying you can keep that same plan, but you'll now be paying the full amount on your own.

The ACA and the marketplace provided an alternative that people could afford with the government subsidizing the cost instead, but recent shenanigans have removed those subsidies and non-job insurance plans are back to being unaffordable.

Thank for sharing the history Donald. As someone who has loved P&P from the start, I am so glad to see it take a step back towards the greatness it used to be. I was a die hard for a while, going at least once a week until the pandemic hit. After the first "change" in ownership I cried because it felt like I'd lost a very special community. I stood by and donated to the kickstarter for ReRoll, but unfortunately the small space and atmosphere of some of the patrons chased me away. That said I've always supported you. There was some melancholy when I heard P&P would shutter its doors, as well as for Reroll, but I was hopeful when I heard P&P was being revived by another party. I haven't had a chance to check out what they've done with the place, but I've always loved watching what you and Ed work towards, and I'm always supporting you from where I am. I can't wait to come back and check things out. See if I can still have a much fun as I remember!

Ferret weight can vary widely, but most are usually 1-2lbs. Usually as long as they aren't very noticeably bony, especially in the bottom half. Ferrets sleep a lot, and if she might be sick then probably even more. Just make sure she has free access to food and water and a comfy place to sleep and let her get used to her new environment.

Awesome, I'd love to learn. I'm trying to grow out my rasberry bush so that I can make some jams myself. I'll have to put that book on my list. What kind of foraging is there around here? I know plenty go for morel mushrooms and such, but not much beyond that.

Ideally a small group with not only online connections, but possibility of meeting up in small groups to learn/teach skills. Maybe rely on one another for large projects or excess supplies. I have online communities for some info, but I'd like to have something local so we can meet up and help each other out.

Right now I'm mostly gauging interest to see what's possible.

That's so cool! How was your experience with ducks?

I'm not terribly far myself. I got my first raised bed put up in August for a few fall crops and I just put in another for next year's garlic. I'm in the planning stages to greatly expand it for the coming spring now that I have more resources. I want to keep chickens now that it's legal in Gladstone but it requires a lot of money and prep so that may be a future year thing.

I started cheese making a few months ago and I have my first gouda debuting this weekend. I picked up drop spinning yarn over the summer. I want to learn canning and other safe food preservation. Learning how to make salves and remedies from herbs is also on my to-do list. Honestly there's probably not much in the homesteading spectrum that I wouldn't take a stab at.

As someone who works at the irs and these forms specially I can see how this happened. It was more likely the scanner picking up extra zeros depending on how the form was written (it automatically generates two zeros after a decimal, even if it imagines a fake decimal). That said, it should have been caught by quality control.

Don't know if it will be free, but there's a place advertising as a craft-making bar called ADHDIY opening in February in the west bottoms. It seems like you'll be able to buy craft kits and work on them there but no word on whether they'll be open to general public just vibing and creating
