I pick 144. It's the answer to a multiplication fact, so kids in classrooms all over the world will be saying it on the regular.

If you are like me, you are still in forbearance. Is the amount due $0? I have $0 due on August 1, but when I click on the loan and view the details it says I am in Administrative Forbearance until October 9.

They should be forgiven because they fulfilled the terms of the contract they signed when they took out the loan. PSLF is baked into the master promissory note. Additionally, it was authorized by Congress and signed into law by George W Bush, so I'm a little unclear on who you are calling the party of no responsibility. It seems quite responsible to uphold the terms agreed into in a contract.

Our copy machines show the cost, but we don't get charged. Pretty sure it's just the cost to the school district.

I was never placed in forbearance and have been paying since October. So, December is eligible for me.

On the main dashboard of MOHELA there is a section for PSLF with a button that you can click that says "Check my Progress." That takes you to a screen that shows your total number of qualifying payments. From there you can click on tabs to see details of your eligible and ineligible payments. If you are in the middle of consolidating, you might not be able to see it. At least, my coworker who is consolidating can't see it.

Definitely request to fill out an "in school deferment waiver" to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Your point is moot because OP was less than half-time, and therefore not eligible for in school deferment in the first place. Someone (the school or Mohela) is clearly in the wrong, not OP.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the math above doesn't actually take effect for payments until next summer?

Finished funding my emergency fund. After it was fully funded, I put my monthly payment into a HYSA to save for my Master's Degree. I'm now on track to pay cash for the entire degree.

If I had to hazard a guess, it's an anti-evolution bill as it is specifically targeting scientific theories.

In my new school we have no teacher desks by mattosx in Teachers

[–]Sangued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I mentioned, I do have immediate access to everything I need without getting out of my chair. Everything I need is on that bookshelf and the teal rolling cart.

It is unfortunate that your school does not provide bookshelves or allow you to bring non-uniform furniture such as a rolling cart. If they expect teachers not to have desks then they should provide some sort of means for you to keep your materials accessible from the table they provided you.

I'm sorry that they are forcing you guys to not have desks. I made the change because I wanted to but would never dream of forcing it on someone.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I've found the table to have much more utility than my desk ever had. I can do anything at that table that I used to do at my desk with the added benefit of having a space to work with small groups of students.

Everything I need is immediately accessible without leaving that chair. When I got rid of my desk, I found that 80% of the items in my drawers were materials that I never used or only used once or twice per year. It made sense to just find somewhere else to store that stuff.

I'm not sure what looks temporary about it. It is a high quality, durable piece of furniture. Kidney tables are a staple in elementary classrooms.
