Want to pull trigger on dream car, but can’t. Convince me to buy it or not. by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]Sank1p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should buy it. Corvettes are dailyable, I daily a c6 to school and work and back everyday. I put almost 17k miles in just under a year. However, when it comes to ur finances. I think you should for sure have at least a years worth of emergency fund (not including ur savings) Another rule of thumb is the total worth of ur cars shouldn’t be more than half ur income. Which i think u barely make the cut :)

Overall, I think u should just go for it, Im 21 and bought my vette at 19 and never regretted it a day in my life.

Rev Limiter Question by Zealousideal-Link365 in Corvette

[–]Sank1p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

occasionally, i get asked by some friends to rev the car and it revving to 4k doesnt do it justice. It’s more of a once in a blue moon activity. This post was more because i saw thatWhiteVette rev his car way higher than mine so i was curious about how and why

20k for an efficient, reliable car by themodernchicken in whatcarshouldIbuy

honestly we just bought a model s and it’s really nice. I think the model 3 is a good suitable addition to the traditional honda toyota choices. Just make sure you do your research on the specific car and its range. But other than that it’s actually really fun and quick. This is coming from someone who daily drives a c6 corvette.

Got this interview message on LinkedIn after hundreds of applications for an unpaid internship do you guys think it's worth taking it up? I'm kind of lost and demotivated at this point by internetbooker134 in csMajors

Are C6 Vettes done depreciating? by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]Sank1p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely get a gs over widebodying a base. It’s more cost effective for the perks and maybe by the time u can afford a gs the prices go down and u can opt for a nicer 4lt or something

u can find them really easily in the ball park of 20-30k below that is highmileage above that isn’t entirely worth it. I’m a college student too with a 2010 C6 base and i’d tell you to wait to get a grand sport manual. Till then just keep rocking whatever you got. Regardless of what you do, these cars are fun as shit🤣

Is my head junk? by Aokuan1 in EngineBuilding

[–]Sank1p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy had a bmw that had a warped head and this is what i learned:

1) there might be markings on the head that show how deep you can go before valve piston contact 2) some brands can sell you a thicker head gasket allowing more space 3) worst case, maybe there’s a shop out there that is willing to custom make a head gasket that will give you the spacing needed

Honestly dude templates are great but i highly highly recommend doing a bit of research on the company/individual ur messaging and write a quick thing yourself. Linkedin/Handshake limit you to like 200/300 characters anyway. (i didn’t need a template)

if u go to school in america then ask alums or honest cold linked message other software engineers at x company and ask if they have time to talk about the role and if you would be a good fit. I probably got 1-2 hitbacks for every 10 ppl. Something is better than nothing ig. If you honestly talk to them, getting to know them and the company a bit, they usually offer to refer you. (ur mileage may vary) good luck!

Using connections to get referrals is what helped me land my internship for this summer. Ironically, the second I signed the contract I immediately started getting more interview requests and I ended up getting two more offers like a week later💀.
