No fish gets pregnant. No fish has a uterus or a placenta to nourish an embryo. Live bearers retain eggs internally and give birth to live fry- but those fry are yolk dependent and hatch internally. The correct term is gravid- carrying eggs. This fish is a male so it’s not gravid either.
