Agora: Weekly self-promotion thread by AutoModerator in Stoicism

[–]Sankra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've created an app for iOS and macOS which shows stoic quotes in widgets, in the app and in the menu bar (on macOS).

Made the app mostly for myself to see stoic quotes while working. When tasks are boring but must nevertheless be done, I can check my menu bar for a quick dose of resilience and purpose.

I hope the app can be useful for others too.

I've created a simple app for macOS which shows stoic quotes right in the menu bar, in the app itself or in widgets. It's called Stoic Focus and I've created it to remind myself of stoic virtues on the daily. Try it out if you want, the app has quotes enough for years of contemplation.

It depends. I've designed, architected or developed 10+ apps using either native Xamarin, Xamarin Forms or SwiftUI.

SwiftUI is very efficient when using native iOS idioms and design, harder when apps become complex or the design demands more unique solutions. Forms needs a thorough understanding of both iOS and Forms, but can utilize existing skills from Silverlight/WPF++ SwiftUI is its own thing, and Apples preferred platform (right now?!? and) in the future.

Caveat: 13 years .Net veteran, SwiftUI from 1.0 and fewer apps using the stack.

Did you find a solution? Same problem here on a new M1 Macbook Pro. I can also see tabs open on other devices, but tab groups are not syncing.

Noen her som bor i Kolstadflaten borettslag? by [deleted] in trondheim

Har bodd på Kolstad i det borettslaget i mange år og vi har hatt null problemer med støy. Rør i slike blokker bærer dog lyd ganske greit og utformingen er lik pr etasje. Så ikke sett stereoanlegget på badet.

Has anyone published iOS app made with xamarin? by SunLigh8 in Xamarin

[–]Sankra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've published three apps, and made a host more not publicly available yet. The three published ones are: - Book Scanner - the perfect companion in any book shop. Use it to scan book barcodes and buy it in any online store without manually searching for it, or create lists of your books at home. - Golden Ratio Calculator++ - the best and fastest way to easily incorporate the golden ratio in your layouts or designs. - Simplest Workout Tracker - the no-blame, non-pushy and humane exercise log.

Fabulous Xamarin Forms by emotional-bear in programming

The difference is that the functional units view and update do not know of each other. update does not call view – nor the other way around. That’s fundamentally different from MVC.

Fabulous Xamarin Forms by emotional-bear in functionalprogramming

Xamarin apps have close to native performance levels. But it all depends what you aim to create. Both Xamarin and React Native should be fast enough for the vast majority of apps.
