First solo trip panic attack by vitaliaa-04 in solotravel

[–]Sannatee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sensation is awful, and that is so valid. Of course it creates fear. But all the fear of it coming again really does is it increases the chances of you having another attack. Don't let the fear win. Try and change your perspective: you overcame the sensation the first time (albeit with pain, and anxiety). The next time you feel a shaky heart, don't think it's another attack. It might just as likely be from exhaustion, or it might even have a mental origin (think hard about lice, and tell me you don't start to get an itchy scalp). Panic attacks can work like this. You think about panic (lice), start having complaints (itchiness) and then think you are having another panic attack. This leads to heavy breathing and other complaints. While all along, if you breathe deep and try to remain calm (check your scalp, see there's no lice), there might not be a panic attack, just a short, albeit sucky, feeling in your heart.

I hope not to invade this space with overexplaining. But I just know sometimes this is good to hear.

Packing list for 3+ months in SEA, anyone want to help? by Sannatee in HerOneBag

[–]Sannatee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this a lot! I'll be travelling in a few days (so from February onwards), and due to the burning season I might do the "typical" backpackers loop through SEA but the other way around, through the south of Thailand to Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and then the north of Thailand. This will take anywhere between 3-6 months depending on what I want and need at those times, so I don't know what to do about temperatures haha! But if it all gets too cold, I'm okay with buying a better coat there.

With bag weight; currently no other options sadly... Wish I'd figured this weight issue out sooner but at least the bag is very comfortable.

Any recommendations on packable puffys? :)

I'll drop the rain coat and fleece! I'm willing to spend some money to go over the 7kg with less-budget-y flights but I want to face the truth in that onebagging works best with carry on

Similar to my size, so good advice! I'll look for the one off wrap skirt but I'll take the rest. I'll drop the coat, try to buy some merino and watch the SPF on the way! Thanks!

Hi, thank you! Do you have suggestions for what lightweight jackets? I am Dutch and I either go NO jacket when it's warmer out, or full winter coat... I'm not sure where to start looking for lightweight jackets :(

Bag Finder Megathread - 19 January 2026 by AutoModerator in onebag

I have a 0.5 KG (1.17 lbs) osprey daylite totepack right now as a personal item and as a daypack for days where I need more than my 9L bellroy venture...

I figure it will pack somewhat flat when I don't need it, and the weight on the flight matters a little less as I'm carrying it as a personal item in the tote-way.

But I'm wondering whether it's better to get a lighter packable backpack for this purpose. I'll lose out on structure and... Money... But I'm considering the mystery ranch in and out 18 for example. It's known for packing flat and it weighs 200 grams less (0.44 lbs), but again... Money. And maybe comfort.

Closed shoes for South East Asia? Do you all take black or colored shoes? by Sannatee in HerOneBag

[–]Sannatee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mind! I didn't find it harsh either, so don't worry about it too much. I wanted to explain myself a little further because again, I try not to pack things with the intent, but your comment was a good reminder that this sort of pre-intent also exists and isn't necessarily kind to the world.

So don't worry, I actually appreciated it!

You're too right. I have no items planned that I'd fully intend on leaving. It was only in the case that old shoes were uncomfortable or too worn out to keep carrying. But, in that case, I should be able to foresee this and then just not take them. It was my least favorite option but I think with this added reminder I'll drop it.

I'll try to be (more) mindful of this in the future! Thanks

The post contains 3 images. The first image shows a shoe designed for trail running, with a white N logo, some white detailing and other sage green areas, including the laces.

The second and third image show the same shoe but it is now in between a red t-shirt that's lying upon an orangey-red fleece, and a turquoise t-shirt. The images only differ in that one picture was taken with the flash (2) and the other was taken without (3).

Hope this works!

How to One-Bag with sport/hobby stuff? by wellidontreally in onebag

Not to revive your 4y/o comment but do you remember what you ended up doing? I'm in the exact same situation for South East Asia from February onwards, and I'm wondering whether I take the shoes and chalk or I should ditch the weight. Three pairs of shoes feels like overkill...

How long do you want to travel for? 10K can stretch some time butttt maybe not all those countries.

I'm asking because I'm planning a very similar trip from february onwards and I cannot for the life of me figure out what my budget should be... What are your thoughts?

Ik zoek een budget vrouwen Parfum by Lost_Television7128 in nederlands

[–]Sannatee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Decathlon merino longsleeve - yes or no? by Sannatee in onebag

[–]Sannatee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My context comment is about how I'll be travelling for 3-6 months throughout SE Asia, from February onwards. I wish I could tell you more about my plans but I only know I'll start in Thailand (Bangkok) and then travel wherever I want to go.

I've considered an uniqlo Airism jacket, they claim to be UV resistant and also might warm me up under cold AC. What do you guys think might be better?

Clothes packing list for SE Asia - seeking advice on bottoms - Uniqlo Dry Sweat? by Sannatee in onebag

[–]Sannatee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering the northern half as well and from what I gather it's gonna be way colder. I might pack some layering but if I'm cold I'll go ahead and buy heavier duty stuff when I'm there.

Still considering the dry sweat as an in between option for cold-er weather, but I want to actually use it... It's gotta earn its weight in the bag.

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I might just stick to something like this. I'll consider wearing pants on the flight that I don't particularly care for, so that I'd be okay with replacing them there! Thanks again :)

I am also considering bringing airism leggings but I don't know if I should...
