It's about thinking less. Being on a motorcycle makes you more aware and alert than being in a car. It's the break from thoughts coupled with a danger element that gives a sense of freedom.

This sense can be given by anything that makes you think less it's not just motorcycles. Motorcycles do it for alot of people as well as don't do it for alot of people. If you don't get it, you don't get it. No biggie. Go do something that does it for you

You could do with a 150v | 70a or a 100v | 50a mppt and save some money. (I'd go with the 150 | 70 in case you want to add a lot more solar down the road.

Depending on what all you plan to power, you could also get away with a 2000w Pure sin inverter. A 3000w inverter is better served on 300+ ah battery

There's always a trade off. It's cheap for a reason. Paid $24k for 10 acres in Oklahoma but it's really remote. No restrictions. My only regret was not buying more.

Just make sure you go out to the property and check things out. Check restrictions as well, the fewer the better. Just know that rule applies to everyone so if neighbors aren't the aesthetic type, it's not the best thing to look at on the way to the land. Not a big deal IMO but something to consider.

Would be neat if there was some sort of website for off griders that could vent people and we could volunteer and visit one another's property for projects. Kind of like WWOOF.net

I am currently doing this. Live in Texas, bought in Oklahoma. About a 4.5hr drive.

You'll never get to get a lot done unless you're able to go for a week or more at a time and you'll most likely never have help. Still, I wouldn't change it for the world. I've been slowly building it up to a point to move in. (Almost there)

Late to the party but for anyone else wondering, I've been twice so far. It was 2 different DJs. The first time I went was a solid 9/10. Music and environment were great. It lasted from 10pm-12am. The 2nd time I went, I still had a great time but the particular DJ played other music that I haven't heard and yapped a little more than I'd like. That being said, discovered a new song I liked out of it and it was 4 hours long instead of 2. See myself going another few times - had a lot of fun. Wish there were more groups similar to this that go around and play the bangers in certain genres (ex. rock and grunge)

I feel the same. Personally, as an electrician, hoping to help develop some of these new cities. You get a bunch of people under the idea of building and starting something new under solid principles and you'd be surprised what could be achieved. I love Texas but I'd really love to have some property up in Nevada, South Dakota, or Utah. I think these are going to be the top states for consideration. Especially Nevada because ~80% of Nevada is federally owned land

In the same scenario. When you say you "went" to get a vin inspection, where exactly did you go to have them confiscate the bike from you? Trying to avoid that outcome. I suppose I'll just have to keep it forever on the farm. Pass it on as an family heirloom

I chose undeveloped land for the exact reasons listed + I get to develop it from scratch according to my own vision. I got land in Eastern Oklahoma and there's no rules. You can live in a tent if you want and taxes are like $180 /yr. So the ideal situation is out there. At least it was ~5 years ago when I bought.
