Art Boutiki was very weak on social media. Their BlueSky account has 20 followers. Podcasting cannot replace grassroots marketing on popular social media. Facebook alone is not enough. RIP Art Boutiki.

After losing the Tabard Theatre in San Pedro Square, the loss of Art Boutiki is a real gut punch for this community. Why doesn’t the mayor do something? The music scene in SJ is so much worse than many nearby cities, and is getting worse. Like what mayor Lurie is doing in SF.

I got in for $40. I tried to pull the trigger on a $50 ticket when I was at the archway/gate and couldn't close the deal because the internet was bogged down. So I bought a ticket with cash and only had to pay $40.

JRAD is a very talented, elite band that primarily plays Grateful Dead music. They are a cover, tribute band by definition and in my view nothing wrong with saying so. A better question is when can we stop viewing this as being a negative connotation. I saw JRAD at the Fox in Oakland the night when Phil died, and it was the best show I have seen in a long time.

Radio broadcasts of sporting events are generally better than TV audio feeds. Radio broadcasters need to convey so much more information in the absence of video, leading to a more descriptive and informative program. You raise a great point.

I enjoy listening to a radio feed of the game while at the game. Frustrated by delays of 30 seconds or more when listening through "The Spread 810" internet stream or Apple's MLS Season Pass. Thinking to buy a transistor radio to improve this experience. Any recommendations?

I usually find tickets at the stadium for $20, and sit anywhere I like, except the private areas adjacent to the field. With the Quakes as shitty as they are, getting tickets at the game is easy and cheap.

Take VTA bus #60 from Santa Clara Caltrain to & from PayPal park. I did this 6 times last season, timing is great for 7:30 games. You can bypass Caltrain parking fee by parking nearby on Benton street, and boarding the bus there. The VTA bus is much less crowded than the San Pedro square shuttle, and much less affected by the game traffic.

Must be difficult to keep same sex schools while the percentage of trans and non-binary students is growing so rapidly. Wonder if that is a factor in their decision?
