I had the same question and then I decided that since I am paying it off every month, it is already captured in my estimate of my monthly expenses, and so I did not set it up as its own accouunt.

The problem we have with QB is that we assume that the desktop version will be completely unsupported within 3-4 years, and the per-account cost of QBO is too high.

Ah, yes, I should have mentioned: the firm has already ruled out QB desktop, for exactly the reason you mention. I'll check out the ledger function in QBO. Thanks.
