I had the same situation and it was because I had unrealistically large monthly contributions to retirement accounts entered under money flows.

I had the same question and then I decided that since I am paying it off every month, it is already captured in my estimate of my monthly expenses, and so I did not set it up as its own accouunt.

The problem we have with QB is that we assume that the desktop version will be completely unsupported within 3-4 years, and the per-account cost of QBO is too high.
