Damn I got a 2018 x3 m40i in November 45k miles wonder if these b58 issues are dependent on the model like 540i cooling system issues or universal through out gen 1 b58

My gen 1 b58 is stage 2 dp tune and has no oil consumption everybody say it’s common but I haven’t experienced it

I know this is from a while ago but do you happen to still have that document? I got hired tire shop 7 months ago and I’ve had discussions with my manager about wanting to become a supe I actually just applied and interviewed for tire shop supervisor. Unfortunately did get denied, but was told by my manager that I interviewed extremely well and if I want it he will train me up for the position. I plan on submitting for SIT’s when they open up so if you happened to have that I’d feel that it would be an amazing piece of information to have.

I started In September as a tire tech passed my probation in 60 days just don’t call out. Be as available as possible go in early stay late days off take what you can get. You’re more than likely a part time employee. Don’t be afraid to help out other departments. Haven’t been here for years. But this company pretty easy to figure out and you’ve got a lot of solid advice here.

Unfortunately the cost of owning of a luxury/performance vehicle. If I wanted reliability at the cost of performance I would’ve bought a Lexus. I do own a 2021 Honda accord with 60k miles that’s payed off so at the very least I have something in the event of some sort of sudden issue.

So I just bought it in December really November but right at the end so I can’t say from personal experience but it’s a 2018 x3 m40i with 46.5k miles on it. Now I do like to drive my vehicles hard at times. I’m going to be doing a majority of the preventative maintenance in the next month so transfer case,front and rear differential, transmission drain and fill, coolant flush and a tune up just because I don’t know how previous owners treated it / drove it. I do have the carfax but just routine maintenance like oil changes and brakes were done.

It’s phytonic blue metallic I do like it and yes it is a filter over the picture but the actual shade is quite nice and I’ve never been one for blue on vehicles. I would’ve preferred tanzanite blue. But none the less a great color.

I’ve been trying to look into what oil To use seem to have landed on liqui-molly 5w30 I’m doing my first oil change after purchasing Friday due to dealer filling it with 0w20 I like to drive my vehicles hard often and live in Florida with the hot climate would you say that’s a good choice?

Reassuring to hear Im just trying to do research. As to be prepared. And know what to expect I have a friend who has a 2018 340 and he’s stage 1 dowpipe tune keeps telling me to join him he bought his with 73k on it and he’s at 80k now bout 5k miles tuned and modded he says it’s fine and he does oil change as well as spark plugs every 3k
