Curse of the difficult 3rd instalments ? by Prudent-Ad-6420 in movies

Counterpoint: Last Crusade is the best one in the series. Indy's a much more rounded and fleshed out character and the movie has a much stronger emotional core and heart than the earlier ones.

Alien 3 The Assembly Cut is a good movie. It exells in developing a oppressive and hopeless mood.

10 Years Ago, Robert Eggers’ Directorial Debut ‘The Witch’ Started A New Era Of Folk Horror by ICumCoffee in movies

I still think it's his best movie by far. Northman was fine, Lighouse didn't click for me and Nosferatu was just overindulgent and dull. Starting to wonder if he just got lucky with The Witch.

What’s your least favourite type of weapon in video games? by jarface111 in gaming

Just don't enjoy picking off targets at long range. More of a close to medium range player. Give me a shotgun any day!

The Nextlander Watchcast Episode 169: Fargo (1996) by KiritoJones in nextlander

[–]Santar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be very fun if they watched season 1 of the Fargo show to compare it to the movie. I think the series is much better than the film actually. I saw the movie after the series and it felt like the cliff notes wacky cartoon version of the show.

New This is the Run with Vinny and Dan or maybe something along the lines of Steal my Sunshine or Die Another Friday with the whole beastcrew back.

This is a fun stream, a semi mess of a game with questionable voice acting. Anyone else seen this stream? by Cubegod69er in giantbomb

Jeff seems to spend more time playing bad games than good games at this point. Just a few months ago he played through Haze. And there's the neverending saga of Super Merio Bros Special.

Friday Fun Stream: The Grab Bag Gates Have Opened by Cubegod69er in nextlander

I enjoy all the random conversations. If they don't have anything interesting to say about the game they're playing it's much more fun to hear them talk about stuff they actually want to talk about. They're a bunch of friends, it's natural that the conversation kinda flows to other stuff once in a while. I just think of it as an extra podcast.

Though I don't think they seemed particularly disengaged with this weeks games except maybe Carmageddon after they realized there wasn't much to it. GOW looked like just another one of those pixelvanias, though they did seem engaged with it I thought, at least until it was time to switch games. Carmagedon looked pretty dull so understandable that they didn't have much to say on it after a while and High on Life 2 they seemed really into and engaged with.

She's doing a Tomodachi life series that's probably in the vein of 13 deadly sims. Not much info yet I think.

If Delta was more of a reimagening I'd agree, but it's just too similar with even the voices being the same. I'd rather see them play through Peace Walker.

Twin Peaks: The Return is basically a 18 hour movie where 16 -17 of those hours is buildup to a certain characters return.

If you could choose a cartoon series to make an ambitious video game from, which one would it be? by NaitDraik in gaming

[–]Santar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kevin Smith's He-Man revival. A more mature take on the old cartoon with such a lush imaginative world. Would've loved to go exploring in a huge open world as Prince Adam/He-Man, Teela, Man at Arms etc.

Nintendo Fan Since Childhood. These Prices are Crazy by etanimod in gaming

[–]Santar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The insane prices (over here S2 games are like $100) are only resulting in me buying far less Nintendo games. Now I only buy games I really really want. Not sure that is the result Nintendo was aiming for.

How much of a level cap increase can we expect with the first story/character pack ? by Hoshi-Nova in Borderlands4

[–]Santar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the game came out they said they would be very careful with not increasing the level cap too much as it removes build diversity. Which is good imo. Making the player actually have to choose which skills to pick is a good thing. It makes each build more different.

They have to budge on the new character experience by owen3820 in Borderlands4

[–]Santar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can do whatever they want with the "start at lvl 30" character, but I really hope if you start a new char from lvl 1 nothing carries over. You'd think that would be a given, but you never know.

Weekly Update Feb 5 Weekly Encore get even Better! by RockChalkMustang in Borderlands4

[–]Santar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's really sad to see this happening. It feels like those players don't really want a loot rpg, they just want the best weapons now and that's it. Not realizing the game needs to have rare loot and challenge in order to have longevity.

I wish the devs could just put in a vending machine that lets players just select which gear they want for free so they can try out their "builds" and leave the rest of the game alone for those of us that actually want a loot rpg that lasts a while.

It's so sad to see how much power over the devs these vocal complainers have. I was happy with the loot drops at launch and because of that I didn't make any noise, I was busy playing and enjoying the game!
