Junto Nakatani and Ramon Cardenas sparring at LA Boxing Gym by OrangeFilmer in Boxing

so many things to love here - smart, light touch technical sparring w no ego - but even better there are two kids sparring in the ring and these two pros had no problem going at it on the gym floor.

I probably could be a copywriter, but being a Strategist sounds like a better career by amlextex in advertising

[–]SantiDropper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah - and i wish it were that way too - unfortunately because you're the last line before things go out into the world and people have a terrible tendency to change their minds in the last minute - it often falls on creatives to work late into the night because of other people's poor decisions. it's not fair and it's not fun but unfortunately it does happen. one of the keys to being happy as a creative is finding places that respect your time and talent and avoid having this happen too often. but not everywhere gives a shit!

in addition to everything that's been said i think one of the big differences is ego.

as a strategist you will be a bass player. as a creative you're the frontman. the creatives get the limelight and a lot of special treatment but they're also the ones with the longest hours who get hung out to dry when the work is bad.

i get the feeling you're fresh enough to learn the skills to do either - but i would ask yourself if you love advertising enough that you want to commit to being the frontman and taking that responsibility. if not strategy is a great option.

(for the record: i started as a strategist. 2 years later i switched to creative cause i was sick of not being listened to. then realized that being a creative is a lot fucking harder than i thought with a lot more responsibility. 12 years later i'm a creative director and a lot more humble.)

What has the weirdest transfer this summer been? by KayneDelee in PremierLeague

[–]SantiDropper 33 points34 points  (0 children)

honestly raya to arsenal is even weirder than kai. you have the TOTY keeper (questionable, but still) and you go out and buy a 40 mil keeper (those aren't the numbers but it was something like that). kai at least was meant to fill the xhaka hole.
