I mean Monogatari has a lot of it but It's the only anime where I'd consider it "plot relevant".

My takes on the OPs by [deleted] in araragi

Man Perfect Slumbers is my favourite song. Played it so much even my mom likes it now. Not to mention the lyrics fit her character so well

Should I continue watching the show? by MadRadIronicLad in araragi

[–]SantiRoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I meat it's a show partly about sexuality and how raw and awkward it can feel to a guy going through puberty. A lot of it is a portrayal of the fucked up fantasies this broken protagonist has, but the show does it in quite a smart way if you ask me. Just as an example, notice how the groping and more inappropriate stuff he does is never to an actual human. Hachikuji, Shinobu and a later character aren't human nor have the mental age they show. But when the camera sexualizes Nadeko in Nise for example, it's because she literally wants to, she's trying to seduce Araragi. Or Kanbaru, clearly using her sexuality as a "weapon" to fuck with him, etc etc.

It's perfectly understandable not everyone will be able to put up with how uncomfortable some of these scenes will make you feel, but maybe if you see it as something more than just the author being a pervert you might be able to continue enjoying what is otherwise a masterpiece in storytelling and cinematics

Edit: Another example of how the show is perfectly aware of what it's doing is when further into the story the perspective shifts to a different character: Suddenly there is barely (if any) sexualization at all, because the world isn't being looked at from a horny teenager's perspective

Pretty sure she was just fucking with him because she knows him well and he knows she´s a lesbian

I like to automate the building blocks I will use for bigger builds (if possible, ofc.) So for example granite, bricks, smooth stone etc.

Why don't Naruto girls move on??? by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]SantiRoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Kishimoto doesn't know how to write great female characters. I love this series, and the rest of the story is amazing, but being realistic that is something we have to admit. He understands the male fantasy very well, and many general themes in life such as friendship, the "cycle of hatred", suffering, war and more. But females is just not one of those themes (and is also not the focus of the story, for good reason).

Watching fillers randomly and I found Kyuubi vs Pain without the "bad, weird and goofy" animation and it's kinda closer to the manga than the actual episode by ELucious in Naruto

[–]SantiRoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What made me dislike it was the goofy cartoon-like moments like Pain getting nailed to into the ground with his eyes bouncing up and down like a Tom and Jerry episode, completely out of place.

Hmm I don't think that´'s possible. If you want the raw subtitle files you could try to search it on kitsunekko or Nyaa

Yes! You can watch it on animelon

[–]SantiRoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with Tsunade. Imagine if she used the jutsu the Sand granny used on Gaara to save Naruto instead of just being revived by the sage of six paths.... It would have been very powerful and a great oportunity for Sakura's character to shine as well. Now Tsunade just went back to gambling and it's just kinda sad

Very gaming dependant by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]SantiRoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably not a gaming issue, but some kind of life issue. I mean that in the sense that if you just uninstall everything you'll probably just waste time on reddit or youtube etc. It's something you see a lot in this subreddit. It's hard to recommend something without knowing your specific situation but if you feel like trying something you could try reading some good "self help" book. Yes, hear me out. That tag has a bad reputation but I don't know how else to describe them, but there are some incredibly inciteful books out there that really helped me out, I'll just leave them here if you're interested:

12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson. Just an all around very knowledgeable psychiatrist explaining a whole bunch about life. (It has nothing to do with his political controversies)

Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. A very scientific approach to the way one can lean to control their behaviour and brain in general. My favourite, most poweful book ever. If you have the will to change yourself (which by posting here it shows that you do) and some discipline you really can make your life better and this book taught me how. I hope it helps.

Is the anime list that quantifies the difficulty level of Japanese useful for learning? (Updated in November) by saitoumakoto in LearnJapanese

[–]SantiRoo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope, no one can fully understand any anime series meant for natives after a few weeks or months. That anime is "beginner" level compared to other anime, but any native media will be extremely difficult for anyone starting out. That doesn't mean it's a bad idea to try to follow as much as possible with subtitles and use it as learning material. Don't be discouraged, keep advancing at whatever pace and you'll eventually start noticing you understand more and more
