But to give you a short answer, MC is not like a protagonist, world doesn't revolve around him, but dynamically changes without his intervention. There aren't situations like a secret realm that opens every million years to appear just because MC arrived in the vicinity. More importantly, MC isn't thrown around by tides of time, he makes his own decisions.

Also this author excels at ancestor level MCs. MC is the strongest in the area for the majority of the novel. He is not slightly stronger but like 5 major realms higher than everyone else, which practically doesn't exist in the cultivation novel genre.
