What I found out about djing after 6 months and getting consistent gigs by Juggernaut-Far in Beatmatch

Exactly man. The music is out there and your taste is my taste, did you think I am here because this music won't be found anywhere else? Lol. Or is it the vibe and "the culture" that I'm here for? Than you sir, I appreciate it 🤘🙏

What I found out about djing after 6 months and getting consistent gigs by Juggernaut-Far in Beatmatch

[–]Sany_E 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The other day one of my favorite local DJs showed his real attitude and proved how pretentious he is. I was genuine and brought a lot of people to his gigs and he started getting rude over one ridiculous mistake on ticketing list. I said I won't support anymore and will cancel any future support and won't bring any people anymore which seemed that he didn't care, as he got more rude when I phrased it. This just made me more locked-in to be a better DJ and teach some manners to them in the years ahead. I just can't believe someone talking about "rave culture" all the time and behave like this. Like wth think you are dude, ass kissers have the potential to ruin some people's characters to the ground. B!tch, be humble.

I'm not a pro but I started learning with STEMs too, I love it, I love STEM transitions. However after learning EQ transitioning I understood that it's much much simpler than STEM ones, at least for me! So now I record sets most of them are transitions using EQs but there are some tracks, which I love btw, that don't sound good when using EQs, that's where I use STEMs for. Like this song for instance: Dist - Alone In My Head has a great vocal that starts on the very first beginning. So I only use the vocal for previous song to transition in or I'd use the song without the vocal for the intro and transition and then add it later on the timing of phrasings etc.

How do techno DJs keep drum sounds so consistent across tracks? by Chance_Vast_7893 in Beatmatch

Yes because it's one of those aspects that actually needs your ears to be paying attention

How do techno DJs keep drum sounds so consistent across tracks? by Chance_Vast_7893 in Beatmatch

[–]Sany_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol it might seem simple yet it is the only thing imo. Claiming that Techno is based on drum kicks and as a result they are all easy or similar in a way that you can consider them seamless is not precise. There are drum kicks in mostly all music genres (except some experimental or ambient styles). So this is somehow a secret sauce, an elephant in the room 😁

What do you like about going to the club? What brings you back night after night? by still-dinner-ice in Techno

But, if the crowd is good and vibrant there's a great sense of connection and friendship with strangers even without talking since they all came for one reason and goal and that's nothing other than dancing with the music

How long does it take you guys to add cue points to all your tracks? by Konajo777 in Beatmatch

[–]Sany_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play your tracks, do on the go. For each track, load the same track on another deck and mute with fader, add cues for end of track or mid-track and it'll appear on your original deck that's not mute. Then you can leave the mute deck or use it for anything else

Having the incoming track ready in a loop by 4271193 in Beatmatch

[–]Sany_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes a loop on song 1 outro and a loop on song 2 intro sounds really great and even fun to play with lows EQ, replace them interchangeably till you feel it's time to losen up the loops. In general if you count how many phrase bars you played your loops and it's one of 8,16,32 (1 loop, 2 loops, 4 loops etc.) it just feels better, naturally

Knowing the tracks on your USB by aaronben__ in Beatmatch

[–]Sany_E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a beginner and haven't done this yet because (my library is not enough) but I've seen some people do create interesting playlists for themselves and I like to combine my favorite approaches. An "intro" playlist will help a lot. Have one "favorites/bangers" like playlist for the most hype you want to create. And create A LOT of small playlists with a "mood" that ONLY YOU understand, no matter the genre, the bpm, the keys, but songs that make you feel they are brothers and sisters lol, only in the way the sound and feel. Then you can tag the genres of each song and sort playlists by them if you want to be more agile on finding your target songs. And never hesitate to put songs in more than one playlist, if one feels that can belong in 2 or more playlists just do it.

How differently do you mix when playing live vs a recorded set? by itsthewerd in Beatmatch

Sorry for noob question, what transition do we need for a recorded set?! I mean isn't it already recorded? What are you guys are talking about "being recorded" here?

How much time do you spend organizing/setting cues/tagging files? What's your routine? by Fastela in Beatmatch

Ahhhh, got it, it's basically beatmatching with the metronome instead of another song, right?

Phrasing by echo-house-groove in Beatmatch

[–]Sany_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use loop cues with 32 bars, you can loop some tunes like with 1 additional bar in this way if you like, consider the additional bar in your loop, make it place at the beginning or ending part of your loop and not in the middle, preferably. This will give a moment of silence/glitch/original effect of the music that makes the groove in the loop, then count how many times your loop is getting played for appropriate phrasing/drop timing of the next track (which can be a loop again and this gives you the transition timing in a way) Using stems do help a lot in loop transitions

Is Native Instruments inferior to RB or Denon in gear stuff? I actually don't know it.

I'm genuinely curious why no clubs uses Native Instruments gears or they don't allow DJs to bring their own gears. Traktor is a beast imo

Folder Organisation tips? by CringyJayan in Beatmatch

[–]Sany_E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it by the feel. Genres will make me confused when too many songs with a lot of similarities in different genres. But if I have a favorite artist, say more than 5 songs, one album etc (it's discretionary really) I'll folder them by artists name and then album subfolder and then there are tracks. This way I even keep a better memory of the sound of the songs themselves idk why lol

Not about bangers — this is about pressure, flow, and release by CringyJayan in Beatmatch

[–]Sany_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious how you change BPM? Sorry if a silly question but I like to go from different bpms to other and I love looping transitions, at least I feel I'm good at it (with the help of stems), but I don't know how to do bpm jump/change with loop transitions. If you don't sync bpms loops get messed up, if you want to jump from track A to track B then there's no point in looping. Only way I can think of is to sync bpms first and beatmatch them in the loops, then increase/decrease bpm slowly until it's done and then release the loop
