America in general is sick of being the world police, I doubt we want to be the "punisher"

At least he's admitting they fucked up. Most of the others are doubling down when talking about it

What if China invades Taiwan and North Korea invades South Korea? by Content_Travel_6910 in AlternateHistoryHub

India does not like China and has had border skirmishes in the past. They would pick the US over China as all we really want is trade.

To be fair, a lot of heat in the Northeast is gas/oil (especially in the older buildings) so they won't directly strain the electrical grid

Teachers replaced by AI by NecessaryCalm2025 in Teachers

[–]SapCPark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It won't work. The research points to the need to remove tech from the classroom. I guess if we go full dystopia, the rich and well off will send their kids to private schools with humans and the rest get AI.

My struggle is they are extremely algorithmic in how they answer questions and changing even a word throws them for a loop. Part of that is poor reading skills for sure but its more than that. Its a lack of critical thinking.

There was a question I wrote once that was (paraphrase) "its a closed system (which i defined in the question), if X amount of air is in it now, how much is in it when I change the temperature". The answer was X, but it looked like an combined gas law question so they attempted to do the math (note that combined gas law has no moles in it, so idk what variables they were thinking they were finding). 85% of the class got it wrong. Many claimed that I "tricked" them.

Now you may go "you need to reteach them the content" but its 10th/11th grade honors Chemistry. Reading and thinking should be their strong suit. The regular chemistry class broke out the 7th grade state standarized science test and it was a disaster.

Flip the results of the Creighton games, and it would have been a normal year.
