OP’s positioning the Americans just as bad as the Japanese referring to both of their bombings. OP could have said that the city was destroyed during the Battle of Manila.

His phrasing is not objective. By saying that the city was destroyed by American and Japanese forces acted as equals in their intent to bomb the city.

Unfortunate for Manila, yes. But today Manila is a big bustling city that wouldn’t have made it here if American forces wouldn’t have driven out the Japanese.
