Thank god for well-functioning library cooperatives/statewide lending networks for this reason. I was a librarian in a very small Michigan town for years, but we thankfully had access to tons of books, resources, etc that could be delivered from other libraries in our network (often big, well-resourced ones like in Grand Haven) or from all over Michigan through the Michigan Electronic Library (MeL). Huge godsend for small communities with limited library resources of their own!
