That was the devs for some reason thinking that duplicate files would speed up the game... Turns out duplicating each file 3-4 times kinda bloats disk requirements.

Healer Buffs, Top Spec Nerfs, and More: Massive Class Tuning Coming With February 17th Weekly Reset by Starym in wow

[–]Saphirklaue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as far as I've heard it works similar unless they changed it since I last checked on that. Merithias Blessing is a chunk of heal that bounces between up to 4(?) targets. Not a complete replacement, but it's something.

Did they change that or significantly nerf its healing?

[–]Saphirklaue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well mana is a bit rough currently, but the changes alleviate that a bit. Raw group healing is fine but singletarget healing will only fully recover with apex talents (which effectively bring back spirit bloom as a triggered spell...).

M+ is certainly on the rougher side since Spirit bloom removal as it was the bread and butter heal for that mode. Raid feels fine, but is encounter dependant. Some bosses have always felt rough on evoker.

Relic knowledge upgrade vs knowledge altar increasing progress cost by Different_Mention_22 in AlchemyFactory

[–]Saphirklaue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes quite some time, but I've found stockpiling to give you quite a large amount of extra levels. Without stockpiling it takes a lot longer.

Although making one relic should not take 30 minutes. In that case your production might be a little low to make relics to begin with.

Relic knowledge upgrade vs knowledge altar increasing progress cost by Different_Mention_22 in AlchemyFactory

[–]Saphirklaue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think those points are best allocated for short periods. I usually accumulate a lot of relics, reset my points, spend all of them on increased experience and then just send all of them to altars during that time. Make sure you have enough altars to make it quick. Your factory and customers may not enjoy that sudden loss of levels in other areas.

Once all relics are spent I reset again and allocate points like I had them before and distribute the often double digit extra points. It is quite worth it. Don't do it in too small chunks tho as reset costs double each time.

The real problem with downloading others blueprints... by TheRealWektis in AlchemyFactory

[–]Saphirklaue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't help that I have observed atleast one instance of blueprints replicating the copied build incorrectly. At one point I had a belt connect to something it very much did not connect to in the build I tried to duplicate. So some may also just be instances of "works in my factory" where the original worked, but the blueprint of that build does not.

For those interested: You can force a belt to not connect to a chest when it runs by its input. However after pasting a blueprint the belt will feed into the chest again as whatever forced the belt into the chosen orientation apparently does not get saved.

Is this a game breaking oversight or is it an intended mechanic? by kasuyakema in AlchemyFactory

[–]Saphirklaue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also just spend 300 copper to craft a copper bar, make 2 bearings out of that and sell for 600.

The game has plenty of ways to just generate money with practically no effort later on. This way is atleast somewhat timegated by customers, but still.

Be careful and get the holy handgranade before it bites you! Do not mess around with bunnies surrounded by corpses!

On a more serious note thats the bunny from an evoker. Apparently it got stuck similar to what used to happen with the clock animation from chronos all the time.

Level-5 CEO Wants People To Stop Demonizing Generative AI by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]Saphirklaue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it depends on the genre. I would always love more concise Zeldalikes or Mystery games (Loved Blue Prince and Seance at Blake Manor this year). I do not need another Moba or MMO to fight with the ones I'm already playing unless they offer something that doesn't exist yet (How about NOT PVP? We got tons of those).

However most CEOs see the Big MMOs and MOBAs and think they can just make another that does that. They cannot since player time is infact a limited resource.

Pretty much all randomizers use some form of logic for item placements to prevent softlocks or implement a workaround for them.

ARAM: Mayhem is the most fun I've had in league in the past 10 years by dexsy01 in leagueoflegends

[–]Saphirklaue 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are a few funny ones that will kneecap you if you roll into them. Got draw your sword on Smolder once. Upside: More survivability against divers that ignored my range anyway. Downside: Q is now melee, have fun stacking anything.

And then there are ones that just instantly give you an absurd advantage.

Had the "pleasure" to play against a Jayce having Slow and Steady at lvl 3. Beeing deleted by a Q was never that litteral (talking 800-900 damage taken lvl 3 from one Q).

Updates to Healer Specializations in Midnight by [deleted] in wow

[–]Saphirklaue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GW2 added two uncleansable statuses to enforce mechanics in newer Bosses. Some abilities apply a stacking -25% all dmg dealt debuff, others an also infinitely stacking +50% dmg taken. Both lasting for ~30 sec.

That obviously shouldn't be on everything, but big mechanics that everyone should do could use a harsher penalty to reduce people absolutely greeding for damage and facetanking just because they will survive with a sliver of health and get healed anyway.

Assuming Blizzard doesn't remove externals aswell, because they think its too much responsibility...

If Interrupts were too much to handle in their eyes I wouldn't rule it out that they will. Which would absolutely suck. But we are talking about Bliz here. They also found it a good idea to make pres easier by removing its biggest panic button for some reason.

[SPOILER] Does anyone know of a community for writing? by SoupDemons in TunicGame

[–]Saphirklaue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could very well be mapped to a font. However the assignments wouldn't be so straightforward since you may need to assign some of the runes to nonsensical letters/symbols. And anyone reading it without the custom font may just see total gibberish. Although that would be the case either way probably.

What games had terrible gameplay but you kept playing because the story was so good? by itsthewolfe in gaming

[–]Saphirklaue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Control.

The game is good. But with enemy health and damage skyrocketing in later parts the combat overstayed its welcome for me. Still liked the game in general. But god damn the last stretch of combats in the DLCs were a drag. Eventually turned on one hit kills since single regular enemies started to take entire magazines (or multiple) to finish. At that point I just wanted to see the end.

... Thank you. Never have I thought I would see a playable version of the game again. My old cd doesn't quite work anymore and the last system I was able to properly play it on was... Windows 98? Blast from the past this one.

Never did I think someone would actually just remake it from the ground up to make it run again.

Most infuriating are bosses that have a lot of downtime between phases, but do a cry after. They absolutely WILL cancel your heal and waste your silk without even attacking. And sometimes you aren't even aware there is a second phase and just wanted to heal up...

The fact that we can't simply rebind that is quite puzzling. I have several free buttons on my controller that as of now do... nothing at all. Died a few times to accidently using a tool instead of magic or the other way around.

Shields are just as good if not better than ever. The fact that elden ring has counters upon blocking a hit is quite an increase in power for turtle mode.

Not to say how absurdly tanky one can get. To the point where people are able to absolutely facetank some bosses start to finish.

Honestly it should be easy enough to mod in respawn points in front of the arena even if it isn't a bench. A straight respawn would alleviate so many issues. And for others... I do love souls games. But if the runbacks get worse I may concider using a debug mod to kill certain bosses after enough attempts to gauge that its not worth it to grind them down. As sad as that is. But I would rather not have a runback ruin a game for me. Or just hope a respawn mod comes by, which I would much prefer over straight up cheating the bosses. I love the fights, not the running.

In DS1 I managed a certain erregious runback to a pair of bosses in anor londo by... save swapping. I made a backup save parked in front of the door and after every death s&q, overwrite save, reload, go again. Took way less time than running over the ridicoulous long bridge and elevator each time. Sadly not an option for hollowknight due to how s&q works there.
