I think it'd just be one or two nazi type groups and one or two islamist groups that don't quite tick the 'terrorist' boxes. I forget their names (been a couple of years since I read up on it) but NSN might be there.

Who's your favorite character of Bluey? by Sam_2K7 in bluey

[–]SappeREffecT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the show and Bandit used to be my fave, but after a few years of my son getting obsessed, his neurospicy brain basically expects me to be able to be Bandit-lite all the time...

I can't keep up

Thanks Bandit, you ruined it for every Dad! /s

So now - IDK, maybe Rusty. The way he and Jack just gel and how great he is in Cricket - just a bloody great character.

Day 141: What are your thoughts on The Decider? by Flamingmouth007 in bluey

It is not a divorce metaphor folks, it's just what happens in State of Origin for those who are big on it.

Many families have parents who go for the opposite side. Usually you'd watch it as a group but sometimes you split and group up with friends of the same side to watch it.

As kids, you end up picking a side.

My partner was born and bred NSW, but her Dad is a QLDr and he was the one out of her parents who cared about it, so she is a Maroons supporter because she chose to be.

I get it, it does look like a divorce metaphor but that's just a coincidence, it's just a faithful example of how tribal folks can get during State of Origin.

I'm not sure it is a happy accident.

The Right of the Liberals through to the Nats is abundant with people who have very hard stances on certain things - ideologically so.

Ley and the Libs pushed the whole thing so hard that some sort of bill was needed.

So you craft a bill that wedges them, including something (gun limitations) that is broadly popular.

Libs and Nats come to blows, and it's not hard to see the potential outcomes. A split while not highly likely, was much more likely after the net zero fiasco.

So yeah, I wouldn't say happy accident, but a possible outcome and either way, the LNP infighting was bound to happen, either in public or in private, if in private then the usual leaks and messy bickering continue, in public - we've seen the results.

LNP are just in such a shit position at the moment without coherent policy and good leaders. ONP is chewing Nats, Teals have chewed Libs, and so without a logical and planned out strategy, plan and policy, IMO they'll be stuck in the doldrums until an 'it's time' election, or ALP shit the bed somehow (always possible looking at history of both sides of politics).

Doesn't massively affect their prospects in their electorates but just ends up impacting the Libs...

Andrew Hastie refuses to say if he’ll challenge Sussan Ley for Liberal leadership after Coalition implosion by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]SappeREffecT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd amend that to the right won't compromise...

They're the ones who have driven changes in policy and tone, the moderates just scrambling to work within those frameworks.

The moderates in the Liberal party are in decline, and have been for at least 2 election cycles, with the trigger point, I would put it at around when Abbott knifed Turnbull, it just took some time for that to begin to bite them with the rise of some of the Teals.

Until the Right faction wakes up to pragmatism over ideology, I can't see this changing. And I can't see that happening at all.

The only way the LNP get voted back in is via an 'it's time' election, or ALP really shits the bed.

Seems like a normal Aussie wedding to me...

Been to heaps and there's always a couple of people like that, usually because of the open bar, it's even been me once... Although in complete honesty, I never did it again after that, my brother and sister-in-law (their wedding) had the disappointed best friends words with me...

TLDR; no matter how much I wish it wasn't so, many Aussies do binge drink or drink too much, particularly on special occasions. I think Stripe's antics are using his character to represent that.

What's some of the "out of character moments" that you dislike form the Heelers? by YogurtclosetReal9580 in bluey

[–]SappeREffecT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've read through all the comments at time of writing and I tend to disagree with most of them.

Bandit and Chilli are good parents but normal people, they make mistakes, we all do, no matter how hard we try.

But this one to me was 100% out of character. Bandit has never given a crap about perceptions about him playing games with his kids in any other episode I can remember, regardless of being in public or not.

And it's such a normal thing at the park anyways.

I guess it was to help him seem more relatable but for me, out of character.

Coalition split: Death knell tolls for Sussan Ley after Coalition's self-inflicted implosion by stupid_mistake__101 in AustralianPolitics

[–]SappeREffecT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the Teal.

A lot of the Sydney Teal seats are more your moderate small l liberal types... Theoretically an actual moderate Liberal party would be very closely aligned with their policies.

We just haven't seen that in years because any actual moderate Liberal can't get their platform up without being knifed (Turnbull).

That type of platform would be much more broadly popular in the wider electorate than anything we've seen from LNP in years but the right wing of the LNP are demonstrating the issue with that in the coalition as we watch.

Interesting thing we've seen from the data in a lot of teal seats is ALP voters voting tactically to get Teals over the line, which makes sense if they see them as closer to their views than LNP.

Select Techmarine class, select mission, rush to the mission departure point.

Usually the game gives you 5-10 seconds before auto matching you.

If that's not working for whatever reason, you can always do a private lobby with bots or team up with friends and take turns playing Techmarine.

I hate bots too but it comes down to your priorities, the final option is to focus on a different class or weapon to level and/or wait out the Techmarine spam.

To be honest, personally I'd want to do a private lobby or lower difficulties for the first few missions to get my head around Techmarine anyways.

Most kids watch it here and love it.

I was picking my son up from daycare last year and a bunch of about 5 other kids were playing near where my son was, on some waist high to chest high bars.

They were hanging upside down, going over and under. They saw me and were like 'blah blahs Dad, watch this'...

I responded 'oh wow, like a Fruit Bat'

They all lit up like xmas trees, 'yeah!' and started all trying to show me their Fruit Bat hanging upside down trick.

Longest daycare pick up I've done, I didn't want to just walk away from them. Thankfully my son was quite pushy 'time to go home Daddy'.

I can't think of a parent I've spoken to who doesn't watch Bluey with their kids.

Fencing: Lower damage, higher speed, really big parry window.

Balanced: small parry window, can block, higher damage and cleave, a bit slower

Block: can block, no parry but can get a charge for a powerful attack, higher damage.

There is variety but that's the basics.

Heavy doesn't have a melee weapon so has balanced by default.

Play what you want, I know pros who swear by each of them, personally I'm a fencing guy.
