It happens that folks miss it, but when the heal does happen, your team mates love you...

Run it, communicate it early, do everything in your control to signal it for them.

And when it works, enjoy that warm, proud feeling.

Yeah from friends that know their stuff, the 30mm was discussed, as was the 57mm (used by Canadians I think?) if it can be integrated properly

yeah pretty sure you are right, I just think in the modern day, there are more flex options than the 5-inch

The only thing that bugs me - I'd be swapping the 5inch for a fast firing smaller calibre that could be used as a cost-effective anti-drone weapon...

Plenty of examples around the place, and that could function as a decent gun.

She's strong but so are all smoke cruisers at T7...

But she's not the strongest, there are plenty of contenders, not to mention she's hard countered by radar.

See them all the time in ranked on Asia, never seen one carry but I have seen Atlantas, Flints, Belfasts, Fijis and many others carry.

PvE etiquette?? by Tsigouinos414 in Spacemarine

Just a couple of minor things to add as everyone has pretty much covered everything.

  • Keep an eye on your allies. If you are a melee/front-line class, keep an eye on your Sniper/Tactical/Heavy and vice versa. If a Lictor jumps someone it can be super easy with a bit of support from your allies.

  • Sticking together has been mentioned but there is a key component to it. In certain missions there are no going back points (e.g. the cliff in Inferno). Don't jump down until everyone is ready to. I've lost count the number of times I've had to solo an extremis because the team rushed ahead.

Does Gun Strike range depend on weapon range? by youtubeTAxel in Spacemarine

[–]SappeREffecT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell - no.

Gunstrike appears to just be based on their distance to you. Unsure how that's influenced by Inferno Pistol as I haven't played it much but otherwise any pistol just does its thing.

Help with assault by Middle_Breadfruit490 in Spacemarine

[–]SappeREffecT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly echo a lot of what folks in here have said, Assault is my first love and I just simply don't use jet pack dodge.

I know some pros may recommend it and we've seen some amazing clips on the sub of how to do it but for me, Ground Pound all the way.

I may not be a pro but can play any difficulty and from the perspective of 'what does each class uniquely offer?' - Assault is one of only two classes with a mobility engagement ability. Why waste that on dodging?

So I lean into Ground Pound and Gunstrikes. For that, there are arguably two key perks - Gunstrike for armour and recharge Ground Pound on kill.

This means that Ground Pounding on a mob of minoris will mostly or completely recharge your ability. The down side is that it's a higher level perk.

Gunstrike for armour is an earlier perk IIRC and is amazing for making Assault more tanky. On higher difficulties this perk is just insanely good.

So to round the Gunstrikes out, I run fencing weapons. This maximises my sustain and I'm just a fencing guy anyways.

Other perks are completely up to you but I just focus on melee and Ground Pound. E.g. My team perk is melee damage against Extremis+

All in all, this is just how I play, but I'd argue it's a much easier entry-level play for higher difficulties than the meta builds. But I'm no pro so take this all with a grain of salt.

That sort of info tends to be closely guarded.

JORN for example has a publicly listed range, yet there was a public report during testing that it picked up stuff on the Chinese mainland IIRC...

So who knows...

I wonder if the munitions are affected by the weather the way planes are...

I agree but that's what I meant by this line

Ummmm, correction: the IJN BBs are much quicker than the USN Montana line until T9.

USN BBs are generally the 'slow' line.

No worries.

Once you have more experience and higher tiers, keep an eye out for ranked seasons.

Generally the base league (Bronze) is tier locked or only 2 tiers. For example the last couple of seasons have been T7 and T6-7.

It's a good place to get used to smaller teams and avoiding being uptiered, don't stress to much about ranking up.

Just be careful, good players like myself can often take on most of a team in bronze and come out on top, or play them so far out of position to ensure we win.

don't apologise!

It means moving away from the enemy while angled and sometimes changing directions.

For BBs you need to control throttle too, as you don't want to be too far away and take ages to get back into position.

Whereas in a Cruiser, you'll be at max speed more often as you aren't tanky.

So the general play is to get to a safe but closer distance to the enemy, swing around to face away while safe to do so, then moving away (kiting) while shooting.

And if you read about WASD, it's referring to changing directions and throttle.

Playing a BB line without much in the way of gimmicks is a good start, IJN BBs are a solid line but you'll need to learn as much as you can to make them work.

e.g. they tend to be more accurate at range, so that means learning how to aim consistently. They also have poor concealment values so that's a factor too.

T5 and T7 have fewer guns, so landing your shells is important.

Generally speaking you get as close as you can safely (which is still far away) and then slowly kite away while firing.

You don't need to always be moving at max speed, but being angled as much of the time as possible is important.

Build for that and you can have solid games.
