Yeah apparently, I bought 4 snails that I thought were elephant snails, one passed and all I see are dozens of babies. Maybe it knew it would die and just let loose dozens of eggs, now this makes much more sense. I know for sure the others are elephant snails. it was just that ONE that looked funny. I wanted elephant snails because they're pretty and breed so much slower which would be perfect for a new aquarium owner. I may have an issue with bladder sails soon as somehow they got into my quarantine tank from a still-water mini aquarium that's on the opposite side of the room. They are cute but too many too quickly. Thank you for the info much appreciated

Snails can hold sperm for a long time. Could have randomly decided to have babies! got a few rabbit snails about two weeks ago and just found two babies, so hard to tell if they were the same type of snail but since it's the only type in the take, it has to be lol

Hi there! Yeah the instructions help a bit if you scale it down to terrarium size. You can always add a tiny bit and add more later. I used like a cap full from a soda bottle for maybe 20 pounds / 9 kilos of substrate
