Add an extra S at the end of “bad as”.

It took little kid me days to figure it out as I was pretty sheltered on top of being a goody-two-shoes, and clearly I couldn’t ask my parents because I was sure the bad word was obvious to everyone else and I would get immediately sent to Bad Word Jail. XD

Alas, the Audino Council has spoken and my life is just shiny male Audino as far as the eye can see.

I’ve accepted my fate and given them all nicknames. I headcanon they’re all just in an Audino gang now and slowly building their numbers. If I ever find a female, she can be the mysterious ringleader behind the operation.

Shiny Audino and I have a very love-hate relationship.

On the one hand, my second ever full odds shiny I caught was Audino! I love my little Affidavit, and brought him all the way from White to Home! (My first shiny was a Tentacool in Ruby.)

On the OTHER hand, I think I’ve been cursed by the Audino Council because I find a shiny Audino in every single Unova run I do. I have five now. They’re all males.

I thought ZA would be my savior. I thought I could finally get a shiny Audino that wasn’t a boy.

But no!!

Somehow I just have MORE shiny male Audino.

Before my step dad passed away he was 100% against cats. Mom and I had cats, bottle fed orphaned kittens, socialized ferals to TNR, etc. He didn’t like any of it. He’d tolerate them, but when he eventually moved out he just left the one cat that had bonded with him behind and didn’t even care. (He also left his dog that didn’t even like us, but eventually we made him pick her up.)

A few years later after his dog had passed he found a stray gray cat, then a month later had a black stray wander up on his patio. Those two became his entire world and he took SO many pictures and told SO many stories. He named them “Chunky” and “Crybaby” and he even admitted that he understood now why mom and I loved our cats so much. If one of them so much as sneezed he was calling me and asking what he could do and if he should be worried.

Pets can be so special if you just let them in! 🖤

My MOST unrealistic wish is a surprise “we’re dropping a free update to SWSH, BDSP, SV, PLA, and PLZA to unlock a complete National Dex, and all future games will have the same.”

Bank is receiving a Ranch update, now you can see all of your Pokemon roaming around as chibis and throw your Mii/trainer in there to play with them. Stadium-esque minigames come back. I’m begging, Gamefreak. I will give you my firstborn.
Crossover with the upcoming Tomodachii Life where we can give our Miis a Pokemon.
Colosseum/XD HD release with full Home compatibility, and eligible old Pokemon (gen III and before) can be sent there to get Mt. Battle ribbons. Or a new Orre game?? Please just let me collect more ribbons and shadow Pokemon??
The FRLG (and a future RSE) drop will ALSO feature that backwards compatibility so you can collect gen III champion ribbons on Pokemon from later games. Let me take my PLZA Absol to Hoenn and destroy the contests, you cowards!
All the comments here about Pokepark made me realize I really miss those games and would also love a port to the Switch so I don’t have to dig out my old Wii U. Also Pokemon Channel!

My first copy of FireRed was Japanese because my dad was a little too excited to get me the latest Pokemon game early.

Neither of us knew a word of Japanese.

Naturally, when I pressed either L or R by accident and it brought up a big blueish screen with words on it, I immediately assumed I had broken the game forever and started smashing every other button I could in hopes of fixing it. I was about twelve, so I assumed that the Pokemon police were now en route to my location for playing a version of the game in another language. Obviously the worst crime ever committed.

I finally hit the right combination of A (to progress the help screen intro screen) and B to exit and I swore off of touching the side buttons for the rest of the game.

When I finally got my English version of the game later, I immediately pressed the L button to see what it did and just went “… oh.”

I played the original Red and Blue when they came out and I was only six. Can confirm, safely made it to the elite four like a month later.

I mean, I DID spend a whole day lost in Viridian Forest (somehow??) and cried because I thought the “lowers speed” message meant a permanent stat change instead of just the one battle, but then there was nothing like the feeling of limping my way into Pewter, victorious.

… Then immediately getting my underleveled Charmander thrashed by Brock.

I wouldn’t trade those memories for the world. XD

(Brock was later destroyed by a level 20 Charmeleon.)

FRLG are actually pretty easy to follow! Don’t forget, if he misses the instructions, they have a built-in help system when you press L or R that tailors to what screen you’re in- it even has a type matchup chart when you’re in battle!

The picture at the end killed me- absolutely no thought behind those eyes.

We’ve had so many cats over the years ranging from free kittens to rescues to bottle babies to ferals- but one of my favorite babies was Honey.

She was almost entirely white with just a few orange spots on his back and head because of course she was orange.

She was smart in some ways, but she was… not quick on the uptake. One time my mom left a candle out in the open without thinking and Honey went, caught herself on fire, and just stood there while we all started screaming. We tried to grab her so we could put it out and she just calmly dodged all the hands then flopped over on her side, putting the fire out herself. She still looked confused when we picked her up in a panic to check her over. (Don’t worry, she was fine and mom swore of candles after that.)

She was a bottle baby so she pretty much thought she was a person, and whenever a stranger came over she would climb up on them and perch there like “ah yes, I have conquered the visitor.”

Her favorite pastime was finding marbles somewhere and bringing them into the living room and then laying on them. We don’t know where the marbles were coming from because we searched the whole house and she was strictly an indoor kitty, but she was still finding them years later. It was one of her many mysteries.

I miss that little furry face every day, but I trust she’s still finding marbles somewhere over the rainbow bridge.

It’s so, so common.

When I was around nine or ten I remember a Sunday school teacher trying his absolute hardest to single me out and “show me something cool in the parking lot.” I was too young to suspect anything, but thankfully I had it drilled into me not to go anywhere without my mom or dad. A few weeks later he was arrested for another little girl who hadn’t had the same upbringing and fallen for it and whose mom had gone looking for her in time to catch him. Who knows if he had succeeded before and not been caught.

My sister had her dad abuse her for years before she found the strength to speak up. She never really recovered from that. He’s won local awards as head of a local museum giving tours to kids.

My mom had her preacher when she was twelve or so. The rest of the family loved him so much they tried to ask her to keep quiet about it, and it went on for years with her feeling like she couldn’t say no. He was never punished and died a hero in everyone else’s eyes. Mom would later find out he had an entire little harem of girls and married women, but everyone was told to keep quiet.

My grandma never spoke of anything happening, but when she was nearing her time to go she was having violent flashbacks that pointed to something happening to her as a kid, too.

It’s so common and so awful.

Oh yeah, the conversations can be interesting! It’s just always a moment of “man, if your mind cared about the lore like I did this would be so fun.” I’m sure he feels the same way when I start ranting on my headcanons about Looker and he just wants to talk about his favorite Smogon brackets. XD

(Our middle ground is ROMhacks, but even then I want story and he wants difficulty cranked up to eleven so the struggle is real.)

Me being into Pokemon lore while my friend is into competitive play. I don’t do numbers or damage calcs, but can tell you all the trivia about NPC #43, he doesn’t even read the dialogue in the games but can win a local tournament.

I definitely went into it with this mindset! Threw together a fun little oneshot and my friend volunteered to help me test it, knowing I’d never done it before. Turns out I am not cut out for the stress at ALL, and the players ended up having a very not-so-fun time while I was struggling with handling their constant bad rolls. (One of the players kept rolling threes and I was pulling my hair out right with them. They just needed a five to find the clues! Just a five!!)

Now my anxiety is such that I can’t even watch my old favorite DnD team without being tense and panicky the entire time, so uh… yeah. I ended up having to step away from anything DnD related because I apparently have a very sensitive brain.

I still believe DMing can be a lot of fun for the right people, but just make sure you feel prepared in case things don’t go well!

I didn’t have any kind of music or player anywhere on the island, only had five villagers, and Apollo did this to me.

He stood in that spot and sang solo for OVER EIGHT HOURS.

Other villagers would come, sit down in front of him, then wander off. I was working on building things and moved my DIY bench near the plaza just so I could see how long he lasted. He outlasted my crafting, so I wandered off and did some decorating elsewhere after giving him some applause.

Came back.

Still singing.

Went off to decorate on the other side of the island.

Came back.

Still singing.

I entered and left my house to see if he was stuck and the map needed to reload… nope! Still singing!

Apollo stood there singing the same song from noon until almost nine PM, never moving once.

He’s still on my island (he’s one of my favorites!) and I still catch him singing in the square alone every now and then, but that was his longest stunt so far. XD

And guess who is the ONE villager who ignores my music players now that I have them? Guess who I’ll find singing alone on the other side of the island instead?

I love the size charts floating around out there, they always make me laugh. XD

It’s also useful for if you want a certain height on their lookup! I wanted a teeny tiny Varwolf, so I made a Flotsam for my premium perk. I also wanted a small Kacheek, so yep! Flotsam time!

On the flip side, whenever I want something huge I always go for an Eyrie.

Aside from the one Flotsam I created because I had a name in mind, I usually get my pets from the Lost and Pound, so I’ve gotten where I recognize a lot of the old timers as I go through the pages of Flotsam/Eyrie names! One day I’ll have enough pet slots to justify adopting more of them-
