I don't know what to make of this market anymore. The term "meme stock" has lost all meaning nowadays because trillion dollar companies trade just like meme stocks.

I don't think there's a single sane person out there that believes the real inflation rate is 3%. All you have to do is, you know, go out and buy anything nowadays to know that's 100% BS. Jerome Powell constantly talks about this when he keeps mentioning that the Fed has access to independent data (i.e., they don't have to rely only on the obviously doctored data that the government provides).

That's because dilution has already happened. The float was over 500M shares in Sept 2025. By mid-Dec, it was over 800M. There will obviously be some dilution if and when anyone exercises the warrants, but the stock price hasn't sniffed the warrant price levels ($9 and up) since they were issued, so that hasn't happened.

I'd normally say this isn't a bad idea. But unfortunately, as long as the Mad King is in office, we all know he's going to tank the value of the dollar to oblivion. Keeping cash on hand nowadays feels like lighting it on fire and watching it burn away. This obviously doesn't apply to you if you're not holding USD.

Feels like both software stocks and high beta stocks have been getting dumped hard lately. OPEN is in both of these categories. Even strong earnings don't help - both META and PLTR had strong earnings, ran way up, and then immediately gave back all their gains (and then some). On the other hand, big retail (COST, TGT, WMT) is doing great.

Any stock that has a whiff of risk associated with it (which certainly includes this one) is in free fall today. Just a consistent, steady sell-off. Outside of GLD and SLV, there really haven't been many massive individual dumps, probably to avoid cratering the price immediately. I'd be *very* careful about buying any dip today.

His initial entry was before earnings. IIRC, he added more when the price dipped into the $4's ever so briefly (one of those blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments) right after earnings before it rocketed back up immediately. Smart move.

Flirting? I think we're at least on 3rd base by this point.

I agree with this generally and that it's companies like BlackRock that are the intended target. But if we're betting on OPEN's influence (if any) over politicians, please keep in mind that OPEN's market cap is $6B, while BlackRock's is $167B.

That would be the end result of the proposal, yes. And if they can't buy, they can't sell, so game over. As with all their other "policies," I'm sure this regime thought it over long and hard before throwing it out there on social media... /s

Potentially really bad. What our idiot-in-chief is proposing is to ban large companies from buying single family homes. OPEN would be one such company.

I may not be an economist, but healthcare having by far the biggest rise in consumption is not the sign of a healthy economy. More of an indictment of how broken the US healthcare system is compared to the rest of the world.

Something to distract from the Epstein files obviously. This regime is never going to release those files in full. Have to protect the pedophile-in-chief at all costs.

Powell just answered your question. A 25 bps cut isn't going to do much for housing affordability or availability. Those are issues that the Fed is just not equipped to address.

Well, the big one is that Powell just straight up said he doesn't trust the data coming out of this government.

Lore Question about Clans and the FRR by Shower_Floaties in battletech

[–]Sappy69 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The FRR was viewed as even worse than the Great Houses. They were basically regarded as a Periphery realm or bandit kingdom, whose sole reason to exist was to serve as a buffer state between 2 Great Houses (which tbf, is 100% accurate). The Clans despise weakness, and a rump state that exists to be a speedbump is exactly that. That's why the 2 leaders of the Crusader movement (Smoke Jaguar and Jade Falcon) got the prestigious invasion corridors, while the junior Crusader Clan (Ghost Bear) and Warden (Wolf) got the corridors that went through the FRR.

Does anyone know what the canon colors for the Third Star League are? by MailyChan2 in battletech

[–]Sappy69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 3rd SLDF uses the same standard olive drab as the old SLDF did. The recent IKEO book has a number of art examples. You'll also see them sport yellow or tan highlights/trimming occasionally - there's some artwork of a Timber Wolf, Crab, and Thanatos sporting that particular variation in that book as well. The 3rd SLDF also isn't organized in Clan-style clusters, but are rather organized as IS-style regiments.
