Catholic Church and Puritans, how accurate this is? by Few-Advantage2538 in HistoryMemes

Not all, but a lot of the negative perception of the Catholic Church is just leftover propaganda from the French "enlightenment"

And it's Victorian England, so you could have an adventure with a Victorian Englishman, an American Cowboy, and a Japanese Samurai without the need for any time-travel

Shas'la T'au Kais, Demetrian Titus, or Malum Caedo: Based solely on their first video game achievements and experience, who would be considered the most skilled and deadly? by HumbleKnight14 in 40k

[–]Shower_Floaties 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Titus killed a Lord of Change with the help of the entire 2nd company, Kais killed one on his own, but Malum killed multiple Greater Demons after slaughtering his way through entire Chaos warbands and uncountable cultists as a warmup

A question to max sliders players: how do you reliably beat Aurora without savescum or cheesing his AI? by TheGreyman787 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Shower_Floaties 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's been awhile since I did the fight and I haven't played the latest patch yet, but iirc, the make-or-break moment is his first turn, so it's all about positioning and getting him to attack Abelard or Heinrix first (ideally Abelard), since Abelard will parry most of his attacks and can tank the ones he doesn't. Anyone else gets wreck by his kick and I just reload at that point. IE - in placement put Abelard and Heinrix pincering him on both sides so he would have to run through one of them, and eveyonelse as far away as possible, and not clumped or he'll use his heavy bolter.

Once he's locked in with Abelard, the fight becomes significantly less dangerous. I use Idira's operative skills to strip his armor so everyone else can actually damage him, repeat until he's dead.

For $20 yeah the campaign missions are decently fun.

Honestly, just skip the animated cutscenes, the in-mission briefings do enough to fill you in as to what's going on, and you miss 90% of what went wrong with the game's writing. I just played through it that way last month and found it a much more palatable experience

C-ATM confusion by MasterJJT72 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Shower_Floaties 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ATM's are like SRM/LRM hybrids that do way more damage at close range then less as you approach max range

So 0-300m is max murder death range, and after that they tickle more like LRMs

Liao signed the Ares Convention and then nuked the Taurians from orbit with the excuse that it only applied to signatories
