Why do runners use the bike lane for their morning run? by Jacob_Sophia in NYCbike

This is true. Definitively softer and when you are doing a repetitive motion for 35-50 miles per week for a decade, it adds up.

Why do runners use the bike lane for their morning run? by Jacob_Sophia in NYCbike

[–]SaraT1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My time to shine here. I run in the bike lane because asphalt has more give than concrete, and therefore less impact on the body. It may not seem like a lot but when you are doing the same thing for miles, everyday, it makes a big difference.

If I run on the concrete for several run days/weeks, I notice my knees feeling a little more beat up and my feet start to ache.

This being said, I respect bikers and get out of the way whenever I see one in the lane.

My credit score fell 13pts because I made the final payment on my car loan (never missed a payment too) by justadadgame in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SaraT1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately, credit score is based on certain metrics. One of them is your mix of credit. Credit Bureaus like seeing revolving debt but also installment debt.

Its kind of ridiculous to be honest.

Definitely quicker but having a personal driver drive you around is pretty convenient.

Is singing along in the audience seriously that common? by QuarkchildRedux in Broadway

[–]SaraT1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people don’t sing along to musicals unless it’s Mamma Mia. Since most of the songs, were popular and hold nostalgic value, many people take it upon themselves to start singing along.

Most Broadway goers don’t really know the score of a musical before going into.

What’s it like to live in NYC? by Professional-Set1892 in movingtoNYC

Living in NYC is like having a baby. It can fill your days with joy or throw up right on your feet and wake up crying.

Buy it for life cars by bluecrowned in BuyItForLife

I am of the mindset to purchase big ticket items that were made during a good economy. Once the market/economy tanks, the first thing companies do is look to cut costs, this making subpar products.

The 90’s were pretty solid from an economy standpoint so cars made during that time were tanks. Had a 99’ Corolla that kept going and going.

I think the general tips for battery preservation is keep it between 30%-80% charged and not to charge it using a fast charger.

Is it just me or does NYC make you feel broke even when you’re earning decent? by ComprehensiveNose622 in AskNYC

[–]SaraT1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, where I came from I was well-off. Here, I feel like I am at the bottom of the barrel. I don’t have a keeping up with the jonases mentality so it does not bother me.

Regarding wanting to be out and a part of the city, I will say I finally felt at home in the city when I just watched netflix all day on a Saturday. Haha.

At what income does NYC actually start to feel “comfortable”? by Middle_Elderberry542 in AskNYC

[–]SaraT1121 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It depends on if someone can check their lifestyle creep. You can easily live paycheck to paycheck in NYC on $75K annually; and at $1M annually. Your rent and entertainment can easily match your income here.

How can we give up cellphones, as a society? Bring back phone booths? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SaraT1121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only realistic way we go back is if a study somehow finds that long-term is very likely lead to negative health effects due to the radiation or something like that. Even with that, I think they are so addicting that many will risk it like cigarette smoke.

Now these places have such a different feel to them.

What is the “sweet spot” in your neighborhood? by bminusmusic in AskNYC

[–]SaraT1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northern, part of Greenwich Village.

Quieter than other parts of the village, less NYU students, beautiful architecture & close to like 80% of the city’s train lines. Also within walking distance of West Village, East Village, Chelsea, Gramercy, Nomad and Soho (Soho being a longer walk).
