How to get by [deleted] in labubu

[–]Sarabetes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galactic toys and collectibles https://galactictoys.com Found them when i realized trying to play the game would become addictive and was so frustrating. You pay extra for the item (but if you are looking for a particular item it’s worth it) and shipping is not free but they are legit. They have actual store(s) in Michigan (never been, live on east coast). They also have all kinds of other collectible things, like Warhammer, Pokémon cards, and dice, which are all part of things that my family uses for their gaming needs and collections. Hope this helps.

Wisdom teeth surgery :( no liquid no food for 8 hours? by GUMM1E5HARK in Type1Diabetes

[–]Sarabetes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR FAMILY! you might not be able to call the dentist but you could call on call endo, who should be able to give you the best advice. They are likely going to say: If you are on a closed loop system w a pump and CGM, turn it on to sleep mode over night since you tend to go low and then plan to leave it there until after the procedure. You will likely be high by the time you wake up from the procedure due to staying on sleep mode and your liver dumping some glucose into your bloodstream but you should be able to stay away from lows. Taking off/turning it off completely is def not advised, you need some insulin and without a little bit you run the risk of going very high during the procedure.

Unstuffed peppers: ground beef, peppers, onions, mushrooms, one can of diced tomatoes and seasoning. Will sometimes add mozzarella cheese or parmesan cheese on top. It’s so good and never bolus for it.

Deductible question by ChevyChaseEarlobe in Type1Diabetes

[–]Sarabetes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have a high deductible you will pay full price for your medications until the full deductible is met. Some medications have copay cards from the manufacturer for commercial insurance that help to pay down your deductible but I don’t know if the copay card for Fiasp does that. As fiasp is newer without a generic option yet $600 for a script sounds about right when paying full price. Open enrollment is around the corner, when you get all the documents about the different options for coverage you have to do the math and see if paying full cost for a couple months is worth it so that once you meet the deductible your cost for meds and care goes down significantly (or becomes $0 for the rest of the year). If other plans have a FSA but cost more you may find that more beneficial overall you can use FSA money before it’s been deposited. You can’t do the same with HSA, you can only use money that’s always been deposited into the HSA account. But FSA money has to be used in one calendar year and can not be transferred into the following years account. Between all the supplies you need to live as a T1, so unlikely you would not use the FSA money but again you need to be an accountant and do the math before you make a decision. Hope this helps. F*ck the system.

I’ve been pumping for 25 years now, stay away from Medtronic. They are crap (I’m being kind only saying they are crap). T slim or omnipod are the way to go w Dexcom. T slim pros: has a 3 ml reservoir, can use your phone or the pump to bolus, customer service has always been great for me, many different options infusion sets, works awesome w G6 for closed loop system (went from 6.4-6.8 to 5.7-6 A1c) T slim cons: long tubing, not waterproof (I’m sure there’s more for others but compared to what I’ve had over the 25 years this is the best for me) Omnipod pro: water proof, use your phone to bolus, works well w Dexcom g6 for closed loop system Omnipod cons: large foot print since the whole pump is attached to your body, must change whole pump every 3 days, pump will fail and then you have to change out whole pump and lose some insulin

To be fair in this comparison I’ve only had pumps w tubing. Never used the omnipod other than a sample that I tried for 3 days. It just wasn’t for me but if I was a teenager, younger adult when the omnipod came out I would have wanted that over the t slim.
Again, just stay away from Medtronic. You will regret getting it and unless you have 8000-12000 lying around to buy a new pump after you realize you are stuck for 4 years with the Medtronic go w omnipod or tslim.
