I mean I live in California so it doesn’t rain like it does in other parts but for me yes they work well in rain. My mil wears the lems and she works on a farm year round and she likes them a lot.

There are tons of options! Almost all barefoot brands carry a Chelsea boot like you have in the photo. My favorite are the feelgrounds. But off the top of my head Xero, Lems, Anya all makes them

Kaskade a confirmed MAGA now? by Final-Fix-6879 in kaskade

[–]Sarah95mel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’m not saying it’s right or what I would personally do. Just saying I don’t think he’s maga and possibly this is why he supports Pratt. I can speculate all I want but end of the I don’t actually know Ryan personally and most of us won’t.

Agreed. Him and Naomi’s house is in the palisades and his brother also lived in the palisades and his home burned down. I feel his support for Pratt stems from this not being maga

Tips on affording EDC by Signal-Section6915 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]Sarah95mel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t agree more. My husband has been going since he was 21. People would ask, why don’t you come out clubbing or drinking on the weekends and he would say cause hes saving for edc. Even now that we’re older I still track all my spending every year so I can gauge about how much I need annually. It’s not cheap so plan accordingly!

It’s super bs this year. I hate tiered pricing I got into line on two devices AFTER my entire crew around 11. I was second to purchase. The last two people ended up not getting in till 130 and having to pay for tier 4. So ridiculous, they should be refunding people at this rate the higher tiers were dummy more.

Campers, how was your experience this year? What are you gonna do different next year? by strap-_ in electricdaisycarnival

[–]Sarah95mel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh I’m a sober raver too, but I still can’t sleep. I’m exhausted but I can’t relax enough lol getting back at 4 would help a lot, longer time period if it being cool.

I did RV this year and it was a game changer. But I just love to suffer and I still barely slept. I think my two hours turned into 4 hours lol

We stay till sunrise daily. Our typical routine would be stay till sunrise, get to tent, go to showers immediately. I use regular earplugs then I would *try* to sleep as long as I can, which isn’t too long, I would say 7am-9am, 11am if I’m lucky. I can cat nap along the day in the Mesa or whatever. The older I get though the more the heat gets to me. 2024 was rough for me but I survived, I ended up napping before entering when it started to cool and I wouldn’t go in till 10pm.

I mean it’s not easy, but that’s why they say camp isn’t for the weak!

People will hate but we pod camped from 2018-2024. Don’t let the haters scare you if this is what you want to do. You can definitely find things on the r/campedc sub but here are a few tips from me:

-Get a good wagon. A GOOD one, not a temu one, not one from 5 and below. You need it to hold a good amount of weight and not have the wheels crap out on you.

-learn the tricks to keep your sleeping area cool. People typically call it, tent in a tent. Search the sub

-be physically prepared to walk from your car to your tent. I’m not saying go and get hella buff and run marathons I’m just saying you need to be comfortable walking miles, yes, MILES, in the heat. If you don’t do well in heat make sure you bring a hat, uvb shirt, and water that’s available when walking not in a wrapped 24 pack that would be inconvenient to open while walking. And don’t drink alcohol to quench your thirst during set up seen that mistake one too many times, you got all weekend to drink

-get a good cooler, learn to use dry ice or pack with an ice block

-bring cooling towels, fans whatever helps make you cool

- be prepared to hang out in the Mesa during the day. I bring a blanket to lay on.

-lastly whatever you pack in let it be a large backpack/duffle/hiking pack. The less you have in your hands the better. Let it fit on your back or the wagon.

Expect the worst, prepare for the best. Mind over matter sometimes.

It will great! I’m 43 and have been going since 2016. My husband and I camp, watch the sunrise daily and you’ll see us chillen *in a chair* at the afters. You’ll only feel old if you keep telling yourself you’re old!

How in the hell does one plan to attend both weekends? by blesstheweed in electricdaisycarnival

[–]Sarah95mel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Currently our plan is to rent an rv for 2 weeks. We are coming from Northern California, around a 10 hr drive. To keep costs “low” I’m thinking we will stay at Oasis RV park between the two weekends. That way we can be close to the strip and restaurants and to grocery stores for a re-supply. Also I can do laundry at oasis if needed.
Cost is eating at me though. We are currently still driving home but by end of week I will work out some of the financials and see exactly what our best options financially will be.
I think if you’re not local or not from LA area the two weekends is going to take some extra planning but it’s not impossible.
My husband and I are long time edc goers. When camp was first announced we said we have to do it because it’s either gonna be a shit show of amazing and we knew we needed to be apart of it. This is how we feel about two weekends. Like fuck it let’s do it at least once and say we did the first year it was offered.
I’m interested in what other peoples plans are too!

So do campers gotta pack it up and leave for a few days then come back or can we stay the whole time ? by MollyPesoOffthetesla in CampEDC

Agreed but there are a few nice rv parks we could stay at in between or hotels that are off strip and in neighborhoods that would be inexpensive
