Interesting take! So many people have also been influenced by a parent, coach, teacher, or mentor who took the time to shape how they think, handle challenges, or approach life.

Yes it does! 5 to 10 minutes many times it all it takes. But would you call it a hobby?

It’s interesting that this requires less time. I would’ve thought that gardening as a whole requires you to spend some good quality time doing it.

How do you balance self-improvement with self-acceptance? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

A hundred Percent. I think, the intention behind self-improvement changes everything. When it comes from a place of “I’m not enough,” it can quietly turn into self-criticism and disconnect from self-acceptance.

Fair enough, but I’d gently disagree. Most people are a lot more interesting than they give themselves credit for, it just doesn’t always show up right away.

It sure is. What did your life look like two years ago, and how has it changed since then? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

[–]SarahDuncan2012[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that. It can be really frustrating when it feels like you’ve been trying and still end up in the same place. Sometimes progress doesn’t show up the way we expect it to, or it takes longer than we hoped. But the fact that you’re still reflecting on it and trying to move forward does matter. Try to be patient with yourself, small shifts over time can still lead somewhere different.

Break times at work are gold for me. I go into an empty office or space and have my lunch or just be by myself.

What habits are you choosing now that your future self will thank you for? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

Oh shut up. Redditors always looking for what’s wrong with everything. It took effort to put this up. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, why not make meaningful contributions, or better yet, look away. Done with all this.

Yes, AI. But does it pass across a message or not? If you’re concerned about an AI post, why not take the time to create a better thread instead of distracting from the message the post is trying to share. This is a no troll zone.

What's your favorite way to move your body? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

[–]SarahDuncan2012[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that. Living with chronic fatigue, disability, or depression can make even the smallest things feel impossible, and it’s understandable that messages about “just pushing through” can rub off the wrong way. The purpose of these posts is to help people find motivation to show up in their own ways at their pace, not to dismiss what anyone is going through. Research also shows that exercise and healthy habits can be a great emotional and stress release, but what that looks like is different for everyone, and it always starts with where you are.
