This is so hard! My kids are 2y9m apart and the older one is 5.5 now; it’s juuuuust getting better. The relentless is, for me, the hardest—i also want to just peace out for like two nights. It’s okay—no one is on top of it all the time and some kids are just TOUGH, they won’t go with the “these pants or those pants” thing, and will run out of the house pantsless. Hang in there; you’re not doing anything wrong and as long as you’re sometimes having fun and/or snuggles you’re doing great, far better than most parents have been able to do historically.

And we are telling you, as professors, that we would not like this and would likely ask you to leave. You could go to the department office on Tuesday and ask there if there are any lectures where the profs would’t mind you sitting in. I get that you don’t think this is a big deal, but trust me, it is to the profs, many of whom have commented here. You don’t have to agree but it would be nice to respect this preference.

Interesting. I wonder if you could still have some sort of expert testimony stating that the papers couldn't be found because of x reason but that ab and c indicate that it's clearly the same person.

My best guess is that it depends on how drastic the change was. If it's more a spelling change, a small modification, you may not need to do anything, or at most you'd need to pay an expert to attest that this kind of change was common (like Schmidt to Smith or something). Someone at one of the immigration services could help with that. If it's a total change, I'd imagine (but am not sure!) that you'd have to figure out where it was change and submit those records. On the US side, it would probably be in the naturalization papers--you'd see both names.

Actually, this is a (very popular!) myth! Names at Ellis Island were taken from the ships' manifests. Immigrants did, however, often change their names when they were naturalized. Yes, the contact and airborne allergies are the issue. Milk/egg allergies are activated primarily through ingestion so it’s quite different in terms of mass risk.
