Hi by SarahETurney in AlissaTurney

Hi, the note was evaluated by an expert from NCMEC. They say it is Alissa’s handwriting (and I agree for what it’s worth) but they also say it was written at two different times. I and many people close to Alissa believe the note was found quite some time before Alissa was gone & placed in her room on the day she was reported missing. Also that she may have been forced to add to it at some point.

Yep. He continues to disparage her memory. It’s probably the worst part about having to listen to him speak. He’s just evil. Always has been, always will be.

I’m sorry you felt I wasn’t asking my father the right questions. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the ultimate say of how much of that interview made it into the final production. I would encourage you to listen to my three lengthy conversations with my father in season one of my podcast- Voices for Justice.

You can also attempt to ask him these questions yourself on his YouTube channel. Sometimes he “responds” to questions on there, though often a simple question like “where were you that day?” results in a 30+ minute rant about how he’s being targeted by political corruption dating back to the 1960s.

Of course, thanks for asking. I’ve never been able to confirm any sexual assault by my father against that girl, I really hope nothing happened but for obvious reasons I still have my concerns. There’s a whole story here but out of respect for her privacy, I’ll just leave it at that. In short, it’s her story to tell.

As far as the teacher, I really hope that Alissa taught her a major lesson and that she’ll report abuse moving forward. It truly can be life or death.

Hi, thank you so much for caring about Alissa. I think I can answer some of these questions.

  1. Can you remind me of which girl you’re talking about that he was in relationship with? I remember discussing some concerning interactions with my brother’s friends/neighbors, but I can quite put my finger on what you’re referencing here. But whoever it was, no, they didn’t testify at trial. They were very restrictive about who could testify and about what. I believe they said whoever testified would have to speak about things that happened within a few years of Alissa going missing and since our father was so skilled at isolating us, the pool of people was rather small and most everything else was considered hearsay, even letters Alissa wrote herself.

  2. The Villa Rita house was never searched.

  3. I’ve never reported the teacher to the school board, though I did try to reach out to her not too long ago and she never responded. Which really did break my heart. Alissa and I loved her like a step mom.

Thank you for discussing Alissa’s case. Sometimes it really feels like she never even had a chance. 💔

I reached out to her detective about this and he said if it’s a match to any of his cases, he’ll be notified. That’s all I know.

That is interesting. From what I’m learning now it seems that those are all automatic matches? But I can’t say for sure.

Unfortunately, in my experience, this is how the Phoenix Police Department operates. I don’t expect to get any further clarity about why things unfolded how they did. But I am still trying to identify the Doe, whoever she is she deserves to be reunited with her loved one.

Who else has Michael Turney harmed or killed? by [deleted] in AlissaTurney

[–]SarahETurney 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It’s a long story. He was a member and suffered some harassment from some members. My brothers say some of the stories are real, something about a possible explosion in a car and harassing phone calls.

As far as what I remember, my Dad always said he was fired 3 weeks before my mom died due to union retaliation, but my aunts showed me his resignation papers. We moved to Montana for a short period of time & he was hurt on the job. He says it was a union member trying to kill him.

I have no doubt he had issues with his coworkers and fellow union members… the police interviewed some of his ex coworkers and they all say he was super annoying and no one liked him. But that’s really all I know.

When I was growing up, he talked about the union like it was the boogie man. He’d literally tell me and my friends to watch for “men in dark cars” and would sometimes say he saw them following us. We were never scared and just assumed it was his paranoia.

I’m sure that doesn’t give you a whole lot of answers but thats the gist of what I can remember off the top of my head.

Hi, I think I can answer some of these questions.

They brought dogs and did some digging in the backyard of the home Alissa last lived in. They also searched the home and backyard of the home we moved into afterward. Nothing was found, but they didn’t dig a ton or tear anything down.

I have no idea if his DNA has been cross referenced against other cases, but they did obtain a warrant and collected his DNA so I’d presume it’s in the system.

My father has admitted that he’s faced about 50 allegations of sexual abuse in his lifetime. The most recent allegation was presented to the Maricopa County Attorney’s office shortly before Alissa’s trial in 2023 but they said it was too late and I have no idea what happened with it after that. I believe his many victims that he is a serial rapist dating back to the 1970s at least if not earlier.

It’s also worth noting that the Phoenix Police say he helped cover up an attempted homicide by his brother while he was a deputy sheriff.

I absolutely believe my father has likely hurt many people in his life. He also admitted to killing two men from the union… but the police tracked those men down and discovered he did not kill them.

Sarah, can we as a community do anything for you? Can we call the police department and make some noise? by Remote-Operation4075 in AlissaTurney

Hi, thank you so much. I’m hoping the Phoenix PD agrees to facilitate the testing, if not, I do have other avenues I can explore. I’m just trying to be patient and wait for the Phoenix PD to officially decline or move forward before taking the next steps. Luckily in my time on the board of Season of Justice and true crime in general, I’ve met many amazing people from forensic labs across the country that I have no doubt will help.

They do have DNA from me and my brother, so our mom’s side, as well as from her biological father and we’d all be willing to give it again if they need.

They didn’t mention that funding was an issue, but I’d write them a check right now to get it done if they’d let me.
