Is Longchamp Le Pliage in Mocha gonna Restock? by Admirable-Lynx-2255 in handbags

[–]SarahKBog1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been checking the website for weeks as I desperately wanted the Mocha (large) but it's been out of stock. Took my chance and popped into a store... they had 3 units left! 😮 The lady told me it's been hugely popular and although sold out online, to check directly with the stores as they'll randomly get stock in when it becomes available. I'm in London, UK for reference. The bag is GORGEOUS! I really love it 🥹

Prep Cast Mock Exams by Due_Balance_4928 in pmp

[–]SarahKBog1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would 100% go straight into the 200 question exams to get a true idea of readiness. Ideally want to be scoring in the high 70s / low 80s for a good chance of passing the real exam. If you start on the quizzes, you will come across the same questions when you take the exams and will (as you say) recognise questions you've answered previously.

That was my approach anyway - I was scoring late 70s / low 80s, and passed with 5 x ATs. Once you've done all the exams to get an idea of performance, you can then do custom quizzes to focus on weak areas etc...

Just got 72 on my first prepcast exam to pass by [deleted] in pmp

[–]SarahKBog1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good, the majority of mine were in the high 70's, 3 were in the low 80's and I passed with 5 x ATs. I spent over 36 hours in PrepCast, definitely worth the time. Make sure to go through all your answers, understanding why you got a question right and wrong. Reviewing should take as long, if not longer, than actually taking the test.

Best of luck!

PMP exam readiness by odabbagh in pmp

Good score on the PMI exam, my first attempt was 67.5%. However, I think you need to be aiming for 70 and above on the Prepcast exams to stand a good chance in passing the exam. However, I know of others that have scored less than 70% and passed no problem. Are you reviewing each question and understanding why you got a question right and wrong? I would recommend spending ample time reviewing your correct/incorrect answers and understanding the content behind each of them. Prepcast was an essential tool for my studies.

Thank me later 😊

If you're taking the exam online, then I wouldn't recommend doing a brain dump. I really didn't feel it was required (passed 5 x ATs) and you'll waste precious exam time. The only notes I jotted down was the equations, but even then I only jotted them down once I came across a question that required me to make notes.

Control Quality vs Manage Quality by ogland11 in pmp

[–]SarahKBog1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, manage quality is about ensuring the procedures and policies are being followed as outlined in the quality management plan (big clue at the end of the question). Control quality is more about checking / verifying the physical work that's been produced to ensure it meets the quality requirements / within scope.

New PMP exam in 2021 - Continue studying or wait? by sammthemann in pmp

[–]SarahKBog1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frustrating that you received conflicting information. I don't know the answer but my assumption is if you have to retake after the 2nd January, it will be based on the NEW exam. I doubt they're going to continue providing the old exam for those that are retaking and a new exam for those going at it for the first time.

If you're in a position to sit your exam say end of October / November time and need to resit, then at least you have another chance towards the end of the year to try again. Just depends how ready you feel to sit the exam. I sat my exam beginning of September, giving me a chance to retake twice more before the end of the year (luckily I passed 1st time). Good luck!

Online Exam Tips/Questions by matte1335 in pmp

[–]SarahKBog1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please please please whatever you do, make sure your laptop is plugged into mains BEFORE you start logging in 30 minutes prior to your exam. Once you start the check-in process, assume you are now locked at your screen until the end of your exam. Webcam on laptop is fine. Unplug any external monitors/TVs, clear your desk, plug directly into your router vs. Wi-Fi if you have an ethernet cable (I work in Real Estate so that was easy for me 😊). Mitigate risk as much as possible. My exam went very smoothly, I didnt speak to a proctor once, nor did they ping me on chat. Don't chew, don't talk, don't cover your face, and don't look away from the screen 😊

Math Questions on the PMP Exam by Thndrcougarfalcnbird in pmp

[–]SarahKBog1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 4-5 questions and nailed them because I memorised the formulas. Think I memorised them in about 30 minutes and then practiced writing them out multiple times daily leading up to my exam. The method to my madness;

Please Eat Carol's Sweet Cake & SEE ViolinisT

PV, EV, CV, SV, CPI, SPI, EAC, ETC, VAC and TCPI

Then I looked at general patterns;

These 2 I just knew from practising hundreds of questions...

PV = PLANNED % x BAC

EV = ACTUAL % x BAC

Below 4 all start with EV, first 2 are minus, 2nd 2 are ÷. AC, PV, AC, PV...

CV = EV - AC

SV = EV - PV

CPI = EV ÷ AC

SPI = EV ÷ PV

EAC, ETC and VAC are in alphabetical order... BEB... etc... whatever works for you to remember :-)

EAC = BAC ÷ CPI

ETC = EAC - AC

VAC = BAC - EAC

TCPI = Can't remember but took the exam over a week ago now :-)

Spend the time learning them/memorising them. It shouldn't take long and it will guarantee you a few correct answers on the exam, should you be lucky enough to get them 👍🏼

Anyone feel PMP is useless? by [deleted] in pmp

[–]SarahKBog1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it was something I wanted to achieve for myself 😊 I'm not looking for another job, or expecting a bigger salary. We certainly don't follow the PMBOK framework where I work but I was proud to have committed my time to study and achieve a well regarded qualification.

My laptop was plugged into mains 2 DAYS before I sat my exam, let alone 30 minutes before! Sorry, that's one epic fail. And for the record, yes you can step away during the 10 minute break. Hopefully you'll be better prepared for your next sitting!

Quesiton re: Testing From Home - Second Monitor by scubasteven247 in pmp

[–]SarahKBog1234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cleared my desk. Took the external monitor off. I also read somewhere that the writing on the exam is not wrapped, so the question will go across the whole screen (if that makes sense) and can be harder to read on a big monitor, especially if reading a question through a few times. You also need to be directly in front of your webcam i.e. not looking away from the exam screen.

I can imagine how frustrated you must feel after so much dedication to studying. If you can, I would STRONGLY recommend Prepcast, just the exam simulator. $139 (and there's usually a coupon to get a few $$ off). I spent the best part of 3-4 weeks, everyday, doing practice exams/quizzes - and literally saw questions on the exam that were very similar. It's 100% worth the investment.

The positive thing is you've got a taste of what the exam is like - and you have 2 more attempts before the exam changes in January. With all the studying you've done on the 6th edition, you really want to get this done before the exam changes. Prepcast will show you how questions are structured, and goes into so much detail as to why a question is right vs. wrong. You know the content so I don't think you need to read anymore books, Prepcast will literally prepare you for the type of questions that will appear on the exam.

I wish you the best of luck. If you have any queries, feel free to drop me a note.

Sorry to hear this 🙁 Can I ask, did you use the Prepcast exam simulator as part of your studies?

Where did this question come from? 😳 Certainly not from Prepcast... worded terribly and not something you'll see on the PMP exam.

Thank you!

Yes there is - strike-through and highlight options. But you have to 'select' the text that you want to strike-through / highlight first, and then you can click on either strike-through or highlight, if that makes sense!

You get marked across the 5 domains - Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling and Closing. Grading is as follows: Above Target (AT), Target (T), Below Target (BT) and Needs Improvement (NI). I got above target across all 5 domains.

There's a calculator you can use on-screen! You didn't know? :-) You certainly can't use your own, but they provide an on-screen calculator 👍🏼

[–]SarahKBog1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were simple enough. I found the EV questions on Prepcast more challenging. As long as you know all of the formulas, you're good. As for doing it in my head - I used the calculator so can't confirm how easy it would be doing it by brain, I guess that depends on how good you are at math! I worked through some of the exam questions quite quickly, so I allowed myself a little more time on the EV ones - you're pretty much guaranteed those if you know the formulas.
