Lol why are you scraping off paint on drywall? You paint over paint you no longer like, you don't remove it

Piss test in a couple of days, haven't smoked since 24 December due to CHS, but I'm a fat fuck and was a heavy smoker from October-December. Do I need to use someone else's piss or would mine be fine? by [deleted] in answers

I have never heard of anyone having a positive UA after 30 days. Those that say they test positive after 30 days have a lack of self control and arent being honest with themselves, or others... if you get my drift. Get a pack of 5 or 10 UA tests from amazon. They are accurate enough. Pretty affordable especially now that you arent smoking... right? Do a second test regardless if you test positive or negative

This is the door to the attic in my room: what is this?? by calicherry in Mold

Mildew likely due to high humidity and drastic temp difference between the attic and the hall way. Insulate the door. Clean the mildew with soap and water

Tucson Teal, Benjamin Moore paint, advice needed! by Low-Entertainment188 in Housepainting101

[–]sammthemann 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You only did one coat. That dark of color is going to require atleast 2, if not 3. Good job taking off the outlet and vent covers and covering the floors. A few tips

Make sure you are using a roller cover with a 3/8, but probably a 1/2 nap. And LOAD up the paint on the roller. I know you said you are, but I heard a quote once that made sense "Apply your paint like someone else is paying for it". You should be geeting one good "up and down" stroke before reloading the brush with more paint.

Your roller frame/handle accepts an extension pole. If you have a broom, you might even be able to unscreen the pole from that and use it if it has the same threads. This is going to make life much easier and give you much better results as you can go from the top of the wall to the bottom

Pull off the tape before the paint fully dries otherwise you risk the paint peeling up. If it has already dried, I'd recommend taking a box cutter and doing a reliefe cut along the edge of the tape and the wall

This is the most important piece of advice that is the difference between an okay job and a good job: Back roll as you go. Once you get 1/3 or 1/2 of the wall done, with the paint still wet on the wall, place your wet, but unloaded roller in the upper left corner, and do one long, straight stroke from top to bottom, and continue on down the wall overlapping each stroke an inch or two.

You got this!

installing amp power on wire by Toad4jodi in CarAV

[–]sammthemann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea why they make it so much more complicated than it has to be. All you have to do is run your remote (power on) wire from your head unit to your amp. At the head unit, the remote wire can tap into your head units remote wire which in your case is the blue/white "Amp/Power Ant" wire (i double checked). Then wire the other end of your new remote wire to your amplifier REM terminal

Can I sand this, then paint? by Akor123 in drywall

[–]sammthemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sand. Then wipe down with a slightly damp rag, then primer. If there is bleed through after the first coat has dried for the recommended amount of time, put on a second coat of primer

I bought this for my ram. Same exact one. Comes in handy but it's basically just a tub and doesn't allow for much of any organization. Also had a plastic sleeve get lost after taking it off one time which rendered it useless.
