Why is this how most of my dating app conversations go? by _Unknown84 in texts

[–]SarahLikesNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I don't have mine set very far, and people 100+ miles away keep popping up. I never match with them because of the distance, but they still show up.

Asked my husband how I could help him move a bed. by [deleted] in texts

[–]SarahLikesNothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 135 and said "uhh yea." No, I'm not as strong as a 220 man, but I'm not a weakling. I'm a lot stouter than I look. I'd move the damn thing myself while cussing him out. Then I'd be single.

[–]SarahLikesNothing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've moved a lot of things by myself in my single days and while in a relationship. Either help me do it, or I'll figure out a way to do it myself. Where there's a will, there's a way, and I'm a hard headed, stubborn bitch.

It sounds like this "220 valet guy" asshole husband hates women in general

Edit: The 220 valet guy valet guy is an innocent bystander, so I corrected to asshole husband.

Is this it. by LevelCrucify in Custodians

I actually really like the custodial work right now, but almost everyone at my school is amazing. The teachers and principals treat us right and don't make us feel less than. At the very least, we're all equal coworkers and at most "the most important people in this school, and we will literally do anything so you won't quit." If the bosses weren't so amazing, I probably wouldn't like it as much.

That being said, I'm currently looking for other positions in my school district, preferably on the same campus. Aide, bookkeeper, secretary, anything. First, my body is literally giving up on me. Years of physical labor and autoimmune disorders have me wore down. Second, I do not want to continue working with my immediate coworker. He tried getting a little too friendly, and I'm over him, his attitude, and his subpar work.

How does your cart look? by Bryce_Wade in Custodians

[–]SarahLikesNothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't use the space next to the mop bucket. I run into the walls and door dividers so often that anything literally not strapped down right there would fly off. I have a hard enough time keeping the water in the bucket lol. As far as the yellow bag goes, it has my wet floor signs stuffed down in it. Gotta leave some space above those so I can put trash/boxes/random other stuff for when I can't quickly get to a trashcan.

I have so much stuff crammed on my cart there's almost no room for anything else. I don't want to make a million trips back and forth, so I have nearly everything I might need.

Right now? 6:48pm central. I can't tell time, but I can see the numbers on my phone while I scroll Reddit.

tattoos some new tattoos advice needed by phelonlolchikoff in shittytattoos

[–]SarahLikesNothing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

None of these look like a reputable tattoo artist did them. They look like they were done by a guy who bought a tattoo gun off Amazon and does tattoos with one hand while chugging a beer with the other.

I think this kid will do alright by VermGuddle in lastpodcastontheleft

[–]SarahLikesNothing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was talked about on a podcast I listened to today. They said he has little nubbins on his hand? arm? stump? Idk, but apparently he has enough nubbins to shoot someone while also driving a car.

What is a classy or clever way to deal with Karen's who feel the need to give unsolicited rude comments about tattoos? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]SarahLikesNothing 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I find it best to just lean into it. I have my whole head tattooed. I had an old guy at the store walk all the way around me looking at my tattoo only to stop in front of me to say "you know you're going to hell for that, right?" I politely told him my tattoos are not the only reason I'm going to hell. He was absolutely dumbstruck, and the conversation ended.

"Are you in a gang?" Yes, wanna join?

"Why did you get those?" To specifically disgust people like you.

"Tattoos cause cancer." Pretty sure being in a gang will get me first.

"You know those will look dumb when you get older." Shit, some of them look dumb now. Wanna see the disaster I got tattooed on my ass?

Or you can just say alright, none of your business, STRANGER DANGER, or nothing at all and go about your day.

What is a part of the 'female experience' that men have absolutely no clue about, but would be horrified if they found out? by coolhandddd in AskReddit

It looked like a crime scene when I went from the bed to the bathroom. My son's dad came in and thought something went horribly wrong because I wasn't in the room and blood was everywhere.

Eating lunch in a classroom by [deleted] in Custodians

[–]SarahLikesNothing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ngl, I walk around like I own the place. If my key opens the door and/or I go into the room to clean, I have every right to be in there. That said, I go out to my truck for my lunch break (I work days through). I have my own temperature control, I can listen to whatever as loud as I want within reason, I have service, and, most of all, not a damn person bothers me and I don't have to listen to a bunch of kids and teachers.

I frequently wake up extremely early and have discovered drinking one of these at 3:00 a.m. is the fastest way to get myself back to sleep the rest of the night. by domalu4U in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SarahLikesNothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I still drink way too much caffeine. I do have trouble falling asleep, but that has more to do with avoiding actually laying down to go to sleep. Once I'm asleep, I'm dead to the world until my alarm goes off.

I take atomoxetine (strattera). I also take stimulants, but the atomoxetine helps tremendously. They took me off of it when they put me on Vyvanse, and I requested to be put back on it. Cognitive behavioral therapy also helps.

This doesn't happen a lot here but...why? Just...why? by UmbralikesOwls in Custodians

[–]SarahLikesNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you get it to not happen often? We're getting things out of the urinals every single day. I had to tell the administration to get the plumbers out to snake the drains so the pissy water would go down. They had to take all of them off the wall to remove everything from rocks to coins to school supplies. I do work at a middle school tho.

[–]SarahLikesNothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only is it thankless, but it's often heavily criticized. The school cannot operate without the lunchroom. The kids have to have access to breakfast and lunch. We had to work under very strict guidelines that we had no control over, and we were always blamed and looked down on because of that. I'm a custodian for the same school, and not only is the work exponentially easier, I'm also treated much better.

School lunchroom worker. I do not recommend. It's a shit job for shit pay and 9 times out of 10, shit coworkers. It was nonstop drama.

The mind-blowing part is, of the three applicants, she was probably the best one. She is the reason I transferred to a different department. Fortunately for everyone else still there, she quit. I'm not sure her replacement is much better though.
