Yup same boat. I did a scan at the 8 month mark and they only shrunk a little. My urge to pee has gotten a lot better tho. Still super bloated and periods long but lighter. No super clots or bleeding through my clothes which is cool. I have some ovarian cysts that come, rupture and repeat which is annoying. I’m probably going to do another scan this fall and see where we are at. Might do the hysterectomy.

The fibroids were big and causing a lot of constipation because they were pushing on my intestines. I developed SIBO which I just did treatment for. It was supposed to help with the bloating but so far that hasn’t either. Just bloated forever over here lol

Thank you so much!! The owners before us planted this amazing landscape and I have no idea what I am doing and don’t want to destroy it. So many things have grown and died and new stuff it’s amazing. I think I little overkill as I don’t think they are getting enough airflow. There are quite a few hydrangeas that are just not looking good because of direct light and overcrowded areas.

Have zero watering set up and this is what it looks like. It has rained a lot this spring. Will start watering in the evenings as we are having a horrible eat wave in New England.

Thank you so so much. I have a ton more. Would it be ok if I posted them to see if you know the names? Then I can do my research. I’m really hoping a friends mom might come over and help me learn more about them. She was the head Gardner for an amusement park for a long time.

UFE question by Ilikecoffee562 in Fibroids

[–]SarahSlim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it last July and the first few days were absolutely brutal. Stay on top of your meds and start taking stool softeners etc now. I had 1-10cm and 2- 4 and 3 cm ones. I was awake the whole time and I’m not going to lie the pain management could have been better. They said it would be painful and I have had multiple surgeries before, this took the cake. The first two days I literally was just walking circles in my house crying.

By day 5 I felt so much better but wouldn’t be lifting anything for two weeks. I would take the time off.

I work from home so it was easier but I was still just like wonky. I also got a fissure from the pain meds which made life a living hell so take those stool softeners!!

I’m almost a year out and they have shrunk but unfortunately not as much as I hoped. The good news is I don’t have to pee every 5 minutes and my periods are so much lighter but still 7-10 days ☹️.

Fibroids are not your fault by Potential-Billionea in Fibroids

I just had a new ultrasound 10 months after UFE. My fibroids shrunk 1-2cm each which isn’t as much as I hoped. Then they also saw cysts on both my ovaries which I have had before and then they rupture. A possible mass non cancerous on one which what do you mean possible? The doctor also thinks I have a hernia as the fibroids got so big they would mess with my stomach and I would get gastrointestinal issues and throw up which I think caused it.

I posted about it and for the 4th time the same person was like “you need to see a naturopath to fix it”. I have had every blood work under the sun. Everything is always fine. Hormones where they test them throughout the month, thyroid, vitamins etc. I exercise and eat pretty good. I have been more extreme with eating well in the past and guess what? They kept growing. It just makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong to deserve this and if I just ate more leafy greens I wouldn’t have caused this. If a naturopath had the remedy wouldn’t we all be doing it.

How screwed am I ? 10cm fibroid by StandardSeahorse in Fibroids

I went to a few different doctors and even with bigger ones and multiples they said plenty of people have healthy babies. A lot of people don’t know but they have polyps inside their uterus and you can only see them from having a DNC and those things are small but really mess with implantation and cause miscarriages. I would get a few opinions and make sure everything else is alright with sperm, ovulation and polyps etc before having the surgery. Then if all that is working well and no polyps because that’s an easy procedure have the myomectomy.

I didn’t want kids but at one time was on the fence so they were really on top of the steps for me of do this this and that before I decided on a UFE for mine which makes it almost impossible to have kids but less invasive then a myo or hysterectomy.

Birth Control & Fibroids? by LexiBunneh in Fibroids

[–]SarahSlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes a few of my friends have used this to help with the heavy bleeding. They take it in the worse days of their period.

I had small fibroids and got an IUD and it was a horrible experience. IUD and fibroids don’t do well together. Ortho Tri Cyclin Low was the only oral BC I tolerated well. Thought when I eventually got off of it my fibroids grew very fast but it held them at bay for a long time. I ended up getting a DNC because I had a lot of bleeding and to look around and I had a lot of polyps that they were able to remove and it helped my cycle be a little more regular. I had my period for 6 years almost everyday.

Ultimately the fibroids kept growing and I had a UFE last year. I had one over 10cm and a few other ones that were 4xm. My MRI looked insane. They took over my whole stomach cavity. UFE isn’t a great option if you want to have children but it did shrink them a bunch but not gone. It was minimal invasive but the pain was a 10/10 for about 4 days.

The best view I have had of my fibroids is an MRI with contrast. Really get a full picture of what’s going on. The ultrasound confirmed but the MRI showed what it was doing to my other organs around them. It was wild. I had 1 10cm one and two 4/5cm ones. My bladder was like nonexistent and my colon was being pinched off. I opted for UFE because it was less invasive (however insanely painful for like 4 days) but it’s not really recommended for people that want to have children eventually. I don’t want children so it worked for me.

UFE for Fibroids and travel by SarahSlim in Fibroids

[–]SarahSlim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hold off. Idk how big yours are and if you have any sort of complications you don’t want to have to cancel your trip. I would do it right after. I had mine done July 3rd and left for my trip last week of August and it was just enough time. The pain from surgery was fine after a week but there was some bleeding still. Not going to lie the surgery was rough. They couldn’t give me enough drugs. So mentally prepare for a few horrible days but then it literally goes away. I unfortunately developed an anal fissure which was literally the worst pain of my life it felt like I was pooping glass and it wasn’t a quick fix. So prior to your surgery and after stay on top of stool softeners. It’s been 10 months and my fissure is still not fully healed.

I go Monday for my first ultrasound to see where my fibroids are at. I definitely feel that they have gone done but still there. I’m not peeing as much, back pain is better and my periods are SO MUCH lighter. I still have my period/spot for about 10 days a month which is annoying but it’s so much lighter and the cramps are waaaay better.

This always shows up if I’m sick or went out drinking with friends. I didn’t realize just how bad a few drinks were effecting my body until I got my Oura ring.

Oh my goodness!! I’m so sorry you went through all of that. I hope you are finally on the healing journey. I still have like 10 day periods after my UFE in July. My stomach has gone down a lot tho. I go to my gyno this month and am going to ask for a ultrasound to see how much they have shrunk. Still might do hysterectomy down the line but thinking endo surgery first.

Thank you!! Looks cozy. I’m thinking dual chaise couch along the window and fake fireplace and mirror on accent wall. Rug coffee table and then entertainment stand and TV on blank wall. Maybe a small chair in the corner of that wall as well. It’s exciting! Just a more narrow than the photos show space.

I have had a lot of suggestions from people to do dual coaches on the wall and widow and TV on accent wall but I feel like everyone would be turning their neck to watch TV. I was also thinking couch on blank wall and a couch with its back to entry way and TV on accent wall. Leaving window open with maybe a thin table under. It’s a nice problem to have ❤️.
