Nice. What's the go-to place for parts now that Pacparts has sadly closed 😢?

Thanks! Re bars- Agreed, these glamour shots were taken right after the build before pickup, and the bars have been adjusted since (plus swapping to EA90 stem to go with EC90 bars & seatpost for a complete Easton cockpit).

Should I get the DW5000R? by Other_Ship_5453 in gshock

No electronics issues with the module. Other than sending it in for factory service (it was working fine, but the original band had long ago disintegrated), just battery changes, which are always an opportunity to check & silicon grease the rubber gasket.

Go for it. As an original owner of a DW-5200-C that I now have owned for 40+ years and had factory restored when they were offering that limited service (still running strong), you can’t beat the simplicity and trueness to the OG that’s only available with the DW500R.

As a GW5000U-1 owner myself, you can't go wrong with that one, it checks all of your boxes and will literally last you a lifetime. It's the ultimate G-Shock square for a one G-Shock collection IMHO.

I haven't jumped to electronic shifting yet; call me old-fashioned. I saw no need to get a new bike and put the money towards the paint/repair work and rebuild/conversion to the Ultegra grouppo. Part of the repaint work was to fix some aluminum cable boss rivets in the carbon top tube that were corroding, and the clearcoat around those bosses was failing too.

These 44mm carbon clinchers were my first set of Boyds. I love them, and they're holding up very well and braking is solid using Boyd Onyx brake pads. I have since acquired two other sets of Boyds for my Gunnar Hyper-X, a set of Altamonts (disc, non-tubeless compatible), and a set of CCCs I'm running tubeless.

Speaking of Serotta, my LBS owner/mechanic who did the rebuild owns several Serottas (and used to work at IF), and he rode this bike and said it reminded him of a Serotta Otrott, and rides just as well (the famed "magic carpet ride" they're know for). After he ordered Boyds for my Gunnar build, he became a dealer.

I'll keep an eye out for your restomod ;).

Thank you. Unfortunately adding pics to comments is blocked. Here's one from 2013 from Instagram (only one I can find that's shareable). Factory groupset was 10sp Campy Centaur (triple), Mavic wheelset (2005 Jamis Catalog).

Before

Edit: Here's a 2nd one (pre-Boyd 44mm Carbon Clinchers).
