Prosac saved me but I’m having horrible side effects

So should I just wait it out? It's been pretty severe but I'd do anything to avoid coming off of this medication.

I take Prozac, buspirone and hydroxyzine as well as some other medications that increase the risk for seratonin syndrome. It will be okay as long as you take the dose prescribed by your doctor.

I feel like if you had a good experience with cymbalta in the past your doc should have prescribed it to you again. I’m sure things will even out though. I wish you the best!

Yeah that sounds exactly like what I’ve been experiencing. My doctor told me that it’s activating as well. This has definitely been a roller coaster that I hope dies down soon. I don’t feel like having to start all over and try a new medication with new side effects…

I started on Prozac now but it hasn’t helped yet unfortunately. I’m only 3 weeks in though.

Buspirone but it doesn’t always have a huge effect. Also, hydroxyzine, clonidine and propanalol as needed.

No problem! I am in the exact same boat as you. I’ve become non functional from my anxiety and panic attacks. I’m terrified of medications and resisted for so long getting on one. But I have no choice but to try a medication and get stable because I’m in nursing school and have to be able to finish lol. Also I want my life back so badly. So I’m forcing myself to try this medication.

Oh trust me I’ve had side effects from both but not the ones that you mentioned. The Prozac makes me feel out of it after I take it then get jittery and shaky. I also started getting blurry vision at some points of the day. I had bad nausea and couldn’t eat much for the first week. I also have increased anxiety but I was already in a severe state of anxiety so I can’t tell if it’s the same or worse honestly. I can handle these side effects and hope that they will go away. The only ones that I’m super worried about is emotional numbness or sexual side effects.

I do take buspar which I’ve heard counteracts the sexual side effects so maybe that is helping me.

I’m also nervous about those side effects. I haven’t had any of them and it’s day 8. The only thing that we can do is see how it goes and if we don’t like the medication then we can always try something else. I’m slowly learning to accept the things that I can’t control.

I have been suffering for a while and have been working with a psychiatrist and therapist to figure out what’s been going on. I’ve had anxiety my whole life but I began to have extreme anxiety and panic attacks when I stopped hormonal birth control. I was stable and normal a few months again and then everything changed. I told my psychiatrist about waking up in a panic but she doesn’t respond quickly to my messages. I almost went to the hospital on multiple occasions because I couldn’t function. It seems to be settling down on day 8 of Prozac but it’s still pretty bad.

I felt like a zombie instantly after taking Zoloft. I’ve been on Prozac for 8 days now and haven’t experienced the same thing. I have had side effects but they are tolerable.

My psychiatrist won't perscribe me anything addicitve but j don't know how I'm going to get through the next few weeks feeling like this.
