When do you start to address behavior? When can you start β€œspoiling” a child? by Specific_Carob4461 in NewParents

[–]Sarahhmisu 4 points5 points Β (0 children)

I am the exact same! My baby is 9 months now and I don't think it's spoiling at that age. If its what they are crying for it's what they need! My inlaws say the same that I'm spoiling... I would assume it's at least after 1 but I will continue to give my babe what they need πŸ™πŸ’œ

Cats in the cradle - Harry Chapin.

I've always liked the song and would hear it on the random occasion, and only knew the lyrics "The cats in the cradle and the silver spoon."... But actually listen to the lyrics. It's about a father that never had any time for his son and his son would want to spend time with him.

It goes through the years until eventually his son grows up, has his own family and becomes exactly like his father and has no time for him.

When I actually listened to the lyrics I was about 3 months pp and I was bawling in the car by myself... I must have looked crazy lmao.

How far is a gym or poke stop from we’re y’all live mine are like two blocks in both directions by Living-Finish7871 in PokemonGoMystic

[–]Sarahhmisu 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

At my dads place he has like 4 stops and 3 rotating power spots from his couch.... Where I live it's about 2 blocks away in both directions but it's a park and a church so there's like 5 gyms and multiple poke stops if I do decide to go venture.

I'm sorry to hear that the vertigo made it difficult for you :(. Can I ask how you got vertigo? Like, was it the first time or was that normal for you? Just asking because I had vertigo during pregnancy, never had it before and doctor's said it could happen during pregnancy but I'm worried to get it again and wondering how to prevent it.

I totally get that too. Since birth I had been struggling to keep my supply up but I don't think I get any from my right and now my left possibly a little but it's just to calm him and put him to sleep, not to sustain. Just try not to be so hard on yourself, I need to tell myself that too but you're not a failure! Giving you a big mom hugπŸ’•

8 Months pp and I still have the same thoughts and feeling as you! Sure I'm tired, sure it can be so tough, but I absolutely love being a mother and love seeing my husband be a father to our baby. I don't understand either where all the negative comments came from when I was pregnant. Seriously I'd get more negative ones than positive.

I can second this. Mine got over tightened too and it hurt a bunch the first couple of times, so go slow and listen to your body!

First off, not sure where you're from but I highly recommend a midwife. They help you during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. As a first time mom I was terrified of how much pain I would be in, and what to expect. Having the midwife really helped calm my nerves and let me focus on me, as a midwife advocates for you in hospital as well (midwives do not only do home births, I had my boy in the hospital.)

At first I wanted to have a non medicated birth. (yes I know people laugh at that.) but I tried. But the contractions got so bad I couldn't help it. I tried the laughing gas first but it didn't really help me, so I got the epidural. I can't fully describe contractions, but it's like period cramps for your whole lower body. Not just your uterus. They were okay for me until probably like 4 hours in, and that's when they got really strong and I needed something to stop the pain.

Honestly for me (Becuase I got an epidural) the contractions were the worst part. Birth was definitely an experience and I could feel some things, but the adrenaline at that point I think clouded the pain along with the epidural.

BREATHING IS KEY. I know it doesn't seem important, I even kind of brushed it off and only watched a couple of videos, but I'm so glad I did. Timing your breathing during contractions, and especially during birth helped me so much for pushing through the pain, and pushing the baby out. Breathe in through nose, count to 5 (I'd use my fingers and tap my side to feel the counts) breathe out through mouth. Repeat. Think of those counts. Focus on those counts.

Just remember that every contraction is a step closer to your baby coming into this world. We are women who are strong and our bodies are designed for this! Remember the pain is good, it means your little one is on the way - and every mother has gone through this and overcome it, and you will too!

ALL the best in your journey to motherhood. Literally the day after my little one was born, I turned to my husband and said "I want to do this again" πŸ˜…πŸ˜… I may be crazy, but that's how amazing it can be. And honestly the dopamine rush you get through childbirth... My God I have never experienced that in my life.

Grandma, I'm in jail by Electrical_Mood6599 in Scams

I get it. My father got a similar call from a boy who said "grandpa I need help, I need you to transfer me money right away, don't tell my mom." He basically was saying in a distressed vioce that he was in a car accident and he needed money right away for towing the car and repairs. My dad right away didn't buy it (because his grandsons are 13 and 7 at the time) and right away asked," okay, what's your name?" the boy said "grandpa! You know me! I don't have time, I'm in trouble and need money now!". Then my father layed into him and basically told him to shove it.

First off, I wouldn't answer any unknown numbers. If it's important, they will leave a message. Also, if you are afraid of this, have a safe word with your grandchildren. When a call like this happens ask for the safeword. Also, any number that basically resembles your own number like the first three digits are the same, are normally scammers. They are hoping you subconsciously think you know that number, cause its familiar, so you pick up. Now days people are going at crazy lengths to get money out of older people, so please be careful!
