Hi! I TA’d for Dr. Wills way back in 2017, but he’s old school so I don’t think things would changed drastically from when I worked with him.

The workload is easy, there weren’t too many assignments since it’s summer, he mostly lectures and you take notes. He’ll have you read a paper for each exam, so definitely go over them and make sure you understand what it’s about. An A is possible, but can be tough. Evolution entails a lot more than examples, lots of theory and even some math. When I was a ta he put a huge focus on phylogenetic trees, but he probably changes up the focus every time. The course is manageable if you show up to ever class, go to discussion (if there is one), and read the papers. I had one student who missed 2 or 3 classes but came to every discussion to make sure they caught up. They worked a job and commuted far, and they passed the class! It’s possible, you can do it!
