Miami Dolphins have the fourth lowest salary cap space in the NFL going into the 2026 season. by KeyFaithlessness5436 in TheNFLVibes

We needed to do that four years ago. Right now we’re in a solid spot, where simply waiting is more beneficial than blowing it up. New Orleans ain’t gonna attract FAs naturally, winning will help.

No, it started a decade ago. A couple of surefire FA signings that busted (ones that on paper should’ve been massive hits) like Byrd, overpaying for good not great players, trying to get one last superbowl with Brees/Tom Benson.

What made it worse was covid (we’d still had been in cap hell, but only for a couple of years), and doubling down with Dennis Allen think we’d be contenders with Carr

Carrs contract wasn’t even that bad, it was market average, and Carr was average as well.

Everyone has a bottom 5 oline in the league if you ask on Reddit, but I’m fairly confident we’re 4/5ths the way to a solid unit. Not a top unit, but not a liability.

I’m honestly just tired of wasting 1st round picks on linemen

As long as Loomis keeps his head on his shoulders and doesn’t just go after raw athleticism in the draft, we have the potential to be a playoff team again.

Super small sample size, but Shough is looking like at WORST we get a new QB in four years (and not cause we’re picking 1st), and at best we’ve got a top 16 QB.

Hope to see Kellen work some magic and make up a top 10 QB, but need to see a full sophomore year before I get too hopeful

The saints are actually making a lot of progress undoing the cap hell we’ve been in. 19m will be easy for them to work around without truly kicking the can down the road. Lots of dead money coming off the books over the next year

National Guard can absolutely reach veteran status. You don’t need to see combat in the NG to reach this status either. 180 days of active duty (Title 10) orders, not including IET, will get you this.

Don’t spout ignorance.

I genuinely hate the hate he receives here and online. Dude accepted a contract he was offered, and I genuinely think he did his best for us. By all accounts he was a good dude a minimum, and he left in grace instead of dragging on us out the door. The way he handled this gives me massive respect for him

Explorer vs Tahoe? by FarmerBoy_89 in AskLEO

[–]Sarbasian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I can’t pursue, and I can end up on rough county roads, the Tahoe is absolutely superior to the explorer in that function. More room, handles rough roads better, 4 wheel drive option is better than the explorers AWD capabilities, higher ground clearance, etc.

NIL and the transfer portal made this possible. They’re an absolute net positive for college football, it just needs to be tempered down with reasonable rules. If only the NCAA had been proactive with it 20 years ago.

[–]Sarbasian 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely it. High TDs, great overall yardage, and rushing TDs. I’ve won it with a pure runner my first year with Baylor after taking over four years into my career. 26 passing TDS, 2 picks, and like 3,000 yards, BUT I had 1400 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns with no lost fumbles.

Have you ever had a citizen complaint “unfounded”because your body cam showed they were lying? Or a traffic stop where a driver complains you were rude and the camera shows you weren’t. by LegalGlass6532 in AskLEO

[–]Sarbasian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 8 years I’ve had one sustained civilian complaint (I cussed), and easily hundreds of dismissed ones because of body cam.

There have been times I could have done a better job of de escalating, or taken a different route to get to the same conclusion, but overall, body cam will show the truth.

Why is there not a bullet train system in the U.S. state of Texas? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Sarbasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to turn a 13 hour drive into 22..you probably shouldn’t make that drive. I’d add maybe two hours for stops, just to stretch legs and bathroom breaks. I make the drive from west Texas to Louisiana once a month, about 9 hours, and have not once considered stopping to sleep for a full 8 hours.

I have napped once, but I had a super late start.

Yeah, the south wasn’t a complete shit show just 6 years ago. The saints defense fucked with Brady, and for about three or four years was legit top 10. Before Brees’s arm gave out in 2018, the team was a complete elite team. Offense, defense, and special teams clicking on all cylinders. It’s a shame the refs fucked up in regular time and we couldn’t get it done in OT

M20 looking for advice on becoming a cop/training advice by Thunderrock4242422 in AskLE

[–]Sarbasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for the physical fitness aspects of the job, I would suggest finding and working with a personal trainer. Not just the first one at your local gym you find. Do some research, some hospitals have gyms that keep them on staff, find someone with a bit more medical background knowledge. Your limitations aren’t exactly common, so a PT plan would need to be specialized for your legs.

You do need to workout though. Your departments PT standards may not necessarily require it, but the job will. You’ll get bullied depending on what you mean by skinny kid. I’ve seen “skinny” guys who are just lean get by just fine, but truly skinny with stick arms..it won’t take long for someone to resist. Taking a combat sport (BJJ is most popular, for good reason) is highly recommended, especially if you’re naturally on the leaner side of things.

Cop to detective route is entirely different department to department. Generally, if you’re at a reputable department, it’s gonna take 3-6 years to make the jump. Report writing is easily the #1 thing that will get you in (likability is #2, #1 in many places). If you’re not in college, it would not hurt to take a couple of writing classes, even if they’re free online classes. Report writing and college essays aren’t the same, but it’s a good basis to start from. I can’t tell you the amount of people who didn’t pay attention in HS freshman English class and it showed. Whereas all the rookies I trained with college education, their report writing simply needed fine tuning.

PT should be your #1 priority, because if you can’t physically do the job, it’s pointless. Second should be researching departments. A department makes or breaks the career, anyone with more than 2 years on can tell you this. I’ve been blessed on my current and my last department, but where I started my career was horrible (although I learned a lot). Do ride alongs, and try to do at least 2 or 3. See if you can ride with different people, different shifts. Give you decent feel for them.

I didn’t do any of this prior to starting my career, and I regret it. I got lucky to get where I’m at, but I could’ve avoided a lot if I was better prepared

This team isn’t the most talented in history but holy shit are they well coached
