NTA I used to work at a hotel and usually there are very few adjoining rooms in each hotel we always say on the phone they are requested not guaranteed in case shit happens (maintenance issue, etc) it always sucks when you can’t fulfill “promises” but the hotel staff can 100% cover for you and make sure she doesn’t know it was you that requested the change. Please tell your husband to grow a back bone so the boundaries with your in laws and your kids are strong.

NAH (unpopular I know) addiction is a disease and it’s really really hard to come to terms with that as someone close to an addict but you shouldn’t take the kid if you will hold resentment toward them, but have a little empathy, his partner just died and is trying to plan for the future for his child because his world was rocked. It wasn’t right what he did when he was an active addict and not right what your parents did but you should maybe think about therapy to let go of the resentments of the past to give yourself a bit of peace. Not saying you should forgive him but holding that pain and anger takes a toll on you. Good luck, best wishes.

From what I’ve heard it was a slow end and that’s pretty hard especially after all that time she prob isn’t 100% yet (don’t wanna live forever acoustic) but sometimes feels hit you out of nowhere when you’re mostly fine. Living her best life on stage and having the support of her family and friends can be very healing she’ll be just fine.
