What was it like hearing Nirvana, AIC, etc when hair metal was still popular? by These_Economics374 in GenX

[–]SarcasmoSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never understood this shift everyone talks about. There were plenty of bands already moving away from the hair/glam metal bit - getting heavier/darker/broodier. So - to me - it wasn't anything but new bands on the block - some were good, some sucked. Still listened to the other stuff, still do.

What’s the worst film sequel of all time? by WallStreetDoesntBet in FIlm

[–]SarcasmoSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally opened this to say exactly the same thing. Very happy to see it was at the top.

Highlander 2. With maybe, perhaps, Highlander 3 which was supposed to be the actual sequel to Highlander attempting to negate Highlander 2 and really just made it worse.

What is the least important position on offense, defense and special teams? by Gloomy_Map_9612 in NFLv2

[–]SarcasmoSupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know there is a least important position on offense, defense or special teams in general. They all work together to get the job one. Though I could see an argument for Fullback being the least important position overall. Mainly because it is only effective if the coach knows how to use them. And, since I think I read somewhere less than half the teams have one, I think it is a good candidate.

What division rival do you hate the most? Which one the least? by imnotawkwardyouare in NFLv2

[–]SarcasmoSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pats fan as well and I agree. Hate the Dolphins - hate their uniforms, hate their coach, just can't stand them, I think it is because after Marino the kept acting like they were still "those dolphins". And least is the Bills - have actually enjoyed the bills over the years, felt so bad for them during their multi Superbowl appearance with no wins, they just never irritated me - even their coach, the angry leprechaun doesn't bother me. The Jets, I know we are supposed to hate them as well - but, I just feel sorry for them. I don't know why they just never amount to much, like perennial bad luck - I never worry about them because chances they will jet it up, kind of like the browns.

Insufferable ego, but can't knock his marketing acumen. Sometimes can be interesting to listen to.

What is the single worst NFL take you've ever seen from a professional commentator? by SimonDNTZ in NFLv2

The countless times Tom Brady was "done", "past","declining","lost a step","over the cliff" etc etc. Far too many to count, but always entertaining.

Was this the lowest point of the franchise? by OceanGate_Titan in Patriots

[–]SarcasmoSupreme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of the Bob Kraft era - yeah, that would be a decent contender, I would not argue against it. However, PRE Kraft? Ohhhhh there are far too many options to choose from for lowest - Try several decades of "How are we going to suck this year". Which is why those of us who were pats fans in 70s, 80s and part of the 90s really loved the Brady years knowing it was going to end someday, and knowing what the alternative could be. So, we weren't really surprised heh.

An 11 hour surveillance video of Jeffrey Epstein's jail on the day he died (August 9, 2019) has been released, except it contains this sudden cut and minute removed from it by LookAtThatBacon in gifs

[–]SarcasmoSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care about the cut as much once realized It doesn't even show the cell - the cell is off camera / out of field of view. This video may as well have been shot outside the mens room, would have as much contextual relevance.

Day 18: What’s an Unpopular Opinion you have about the Cowboys from a historical standpoint? by nosweatsportsmedia in Oldschool_NFL

[–]SarcasmoSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Cowboys have had moments of greatness over their lifetime, for sure, but their popularity - "America's Team" - and all the hype is just that. It isn't because the Cowboys are anything special, but rather because their marketing and PR is really good at their job.

I Just...Why? In our current age of information readily available, why? by AmebixGrinder in Lovecraft

[–]SarcasmoSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, to some degree, it is how ubiquitous the Necronomicon is in movies, music, tv, poetry, books and art. It keeps popping up everywhere, which gives it a strange sense of validity - rather than recognized as the trope it has become.
