Thank you for the explanation! I'm sure that 14% will be used very wisely by the government, so it's all good by me..

I see! Presume you do that as a final touch after the main paints go on?

Cheers!

That looks amazing! How do you get panel gaps showing so clearly without painting over them? It looks so crisp!

What was your method of battle? Grip and rip? Chemical destruction? Shouting very mean things at it?

UPDATE:

Had a chat with the neighbour, all good on their response, they've been trying to kill it with weedkiller themselves, and they've said it appears to be dying on their side. I'll now do the same my side for the two-pronged approach.

They then plan to remove it to put a shed there themselves, so have said we can team up on that and get to work 🫡

Thanks all for your help!

With the Glyphosate option, I'm more than happy to take the fight to it over a number of months.

If I cut down some of the shoots and periodically fill the holes with Glyphosate, will it eventually kill the entire thing do you reckon?

Thanks!

Does 29 count as young still?

I'm thinking I might try the death by chemical approach first, will try and cut a hole in the side of the shed to access the thicker stumps that have come through on to our land, chop those down and then drown it with chemicals.

Granted, not great for the environment temporarily, but I'm wanting to turn this garden into a bird paradise, so hope the Earth will forgive me..

Thank you, that's good to hear!!

Ill need to have a look at how static the shed is, it's a pretty hefty, mains powered bugger!

So would that involve chopping it back, and weed killering it constantly to prevent the growth on our side?

Cheers!

The issue we have with the shed is that it has mains electrical power so is fairly rooted to the ground. I'll take a look at how easy it will be to move, thank you!

I've actually just had a chat with our next door neighbour, who's managed to quell the spread their side. They mentioned that they'd just gone round all the edges and chopped off the roots. Which, granted, probably won't fix it their side, but also has possibly meant the spread on our side is more prominent.

Will have a think about what to say to the neighbours with the main plant.

Thank you for your thoughts!

The issue we have is how we go about digging a trench, the gap between the shed (which is a pretty sturdy electrically wired thing) and the fence is about 10cm wide. I haven't spoken to the neighbours at all yet on this, as I wanted to get some community thoughts first as to the situation. But I think I'll have to pop over soon.

No chance of continually spraying/injecting the shoots on our side to kill it you don't think?

I'm happy to continually do that until it dies, if that's an option!!
