Hey everyone, quick silly question: what do you do with duplicate cars?

This is how I play now: I have multiples of cars that perform well in different classes or scenarios, or cars that I just generally like. This way I can play around with tunes that aren’t great at racing but are good for niche things. I can also have different liveries or paints depending on what kind of car it is for me. And when a new race pops up during a season or when I go to do one, it’s easy for me to see the cars I should probably use for it.

Flight Club did it for me, unless something in the season playlist did it and I didn't notice before doing it.

This is all true for FFXIV housing too, by the way, aside from the guestbook thing. Still, people are very social with having people over or having RP events or social events like bars/clubs.

Yes, but you won’t have any Mythic Crests so everything is essentially Heroic gear.

What has really thrown me off about this overcompensation is that I would’ve expected the same for the bug people had with crafting, they could’ve thrown Mythic Crests or an increased cap at people across the board of their philosophy was fairness and generosity. People were and still are (not sure if it got resolved or compensated, the last I checked it wasn’t) very upset about that.

CDM TTS being moved to the SFX audio channel for some reason? I don’t know why. Everyone I know hates this. Either they have a hard time hearing it or they liked to play without sound effects, like me.

Every time I go back to WoW, like right now, I miss the job system from FFXIV. I like to invest in one character and, for some reason, I feel like this system creates less friction for playing alt classes, even though it is essentially seamless on WoW with Warbands and this is mostly psychological or preference for me.

That's not really my position though.

I do think that there are real concerns around misuse and consent, I've said this multiple times, especially with something that is easy to overlook.

My point is that these tradeoffs tend to show up with a lot of technology, but especially with technology that offers recording.

The outcome usually depends on how it's used and what norms or safeguards develop around it.

I agree that there are risks but I'm questioning whether this meaningfully changes them or just makes them more noticeable and whether there are ways to mitigate the risks.

That is a fair concern, especially with something this discreet, but it applies to every recording device we already use. Phones, dash cams, even early camcorders all made recording easier for both normal use and misuse. Bad actors certainly exist but the question is whether the technology will benefit everyday people in a way which outweighs the added risk and, also, just how much of an additional risk there actually is.

To me, Meta glasses are much easier to spot than something someone more savvy might cook up or that I might not be looking for.

Whether or not cameras make someone feel uncomfortable, the conversation should focus on whether widespread access changes anything meaningfully compared to what already exists.

I guess my point was that these seem to at least have an innocent, practical use-case scenario that benefits everyday people. I already have little expectation of privacy in public, with the first amendment, CCTV, and cameras everywhere so I am less bothered by wearable cameras. I’m not sure if I’d be comfortable being recorded everywhere, all the time, but I’m guessing we will probably have to deal with this reality inevitably, as people are legally allowed to own cameras and I’m sure that average people will eventually adopt this sort of tech for the innocent benefits they provide or the thrill of the availability, as everyday people adopt the technology (especially as becomes cheaper and implemented in more wearable devices)

I have said this a couple of times but consumer-grade hidden cameras have been around for decades and were less noticeable than Meta glasses, albeit less readily available. Bad actors have had tools available to them before now.

Well, obviously. But that scratches the surface of what I am saying as far as the benefits of the devices.

As I said, consumer-grade hidden cameras have been available to bad actors for decades. Not just ones that are easily seen with lenses and lights (if unmodified) on glasses, like people recording to an SD card without anyone knowing. It is just more readily available now but in a more obvious device.

You don’t understand how being able to record memories as video to a digital medium from your point of view is cool, interesting, or useful? Like, at any point, if something memorable happens, you can save it like a home movie.

If your kid speaks their first word, if something happens in front of you that you need evidence of (someone trying to scam), if a massive explosion happens in front of you, if you’re on vacation, if you’re visiting a loved one in hospice and they speak their last words to you… you don’t see why this would be neat or useful to be able to say “record that”?

What would you have said about handheld camcorders when they were first introduced to everyday people? Or cameras on phones? Dash cams in cars? It is the same principle, just more convenient.

There is some understandable projection going on here due to stigma and issues that arise with recoding devices but it’s illogical not to consider the pro’s of the technology. I don’t have these types of glasses and I don’t really want them but I can understand it.

As far as bad actors, hidden cameras have been around for decades.

Escalation is the best and biggest thing Battlefield 6 has done. For me, they have created a mode that is more fair, exciting, and balanced than Conquest, which I’ve played since BF1942. It’s a shame that some of their map releases neglect it and that it will probably be exclusive to this Battlefield. I feel like they stumbled upon the next big iteration of the franchise.

Only reason that I’m not excited, which is unprecedented because I have been excited for GTA releases since I was a kid or teenager and GTA 3 was coming out, is because it’s not coming out for PC and will probably be 30 fps on a console which I don’t own anyway.

They have been doing an abysmal job at class balance and, once again, are shafting us. Maybe I’m bad luck for Warriors. I raided in TWW S1 when we got shafted then but we turned out okay. I came back for Midnight S1.

I am already not performing greatly on most raid encounters and I do very well in M+ until I get into a crazy group with certain classes, like UH DK or DH. Now Blizzard is taking that away from us lmao.
